2013 RX350 Non Navi
Hi guys, Just wanted to share a few pics of a 2013 RX350 non Navigation. This was the first 13' model at my dealer I have seen without navigation so it through me off when I got in the car to move it. The rear view camera is no longer in the rear view mirror, but rather the large screen where the navigation goes . Anyway enjoy hah!

the icons look dated. It's as if i'm looking at a cellphone from the 90's.
But overall the whole package is an improvement from the Non-Navigation of 2010-2012

I'm not sure i would buy Navi again. I like the software in my new Garmin better. Funny thing is the voices are the same. Drives me nuts that it locks me from doing many functions once the car is underway. My wife wants the speed limit displayed like on the Garmin, while traveling.

Even though Garmin, Tom tom, Magellan, Sony and other Navigation makers out there can sell you a "Navi" for a lot cheaper and with more Tech than the "stock" Navigation, you will never get that OEM clean look that comes with the stock.
I guess i spoiled myself too much, but i dont want to go back to suction cups.

huge improvement for non-navi RX. no more "blank" hole.
we travel all over NE during hockey season and I use both oem and TomTom for traffice/speed/light trap alerts. One nice feature for oem navi is that it works with vehicle computer so it "continues" to navigate while passing through tunnel or heavily covered area where portable device will stop/pause until signal is regained. Downside for oem is the annual map update of $300 verses free life time map updates for most portable devices.

And if you do, i find it cheaper NOT TO buy FROM THE DEALER.
That $300 is usually $159 from 3rd party sellers.

The GEN III RX NAV is not up-datable from 3rd party dealers. It's a 'key' (USB flashdrive) that has to come from the parts department and the tech puts it into his computer that he connects to your car and downloads from a Corporate web site. That's how they stopped the copying of the old DVD system that created lost business.

I didn't want the nav in my RX, at least wasn't going to pay a cent more to get it. My Garmin unit sits up in front of the display on a small beanbag when needed (which isn't very often where I live in rural USA), doesn't block the view, and doesn't move. Yes, have to put up with a single wire for power, but it is barely noticeable and I get free updates for maps/traffic and several additional cool features as others have mentioned above.
