Ipod keeps crashing in 2013 RX 350
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had experience with this... I had a 2011 RX 350 which I loved and played my iPod in it all the time with a Lexus supplied cable. Now I get the 2013 and the iPod keeps restarting. It only happens in the car, not when I use it elsewhere. Is this an issue with the vehicle itself?

I have no problem with my iPod Classic and real Apple OEM cable in my 2013. Per discussion in other threads, ensure you have a real cable, not a knock-off, and a supported iPod -- not all are. Check p589 (and others, depending on type of audio system in your truck) of this manual.
If you have a supported iPod and real cable, my suggestion is first reset your iPod per these Apple instructions. If that still fails in your truck, personally, I'd then try resetting my iPod to factory settings like this, and easily enough reconnecting to iTunes to reload my music. If that also failed, well, it's dealer time -- something may be wrong with the IPod capability in your Lexus.
...I should have added, a couple years back I had an older iPod with hard disk (like my newer Classic does -- not one with only flash memory), and it started acting up by occasionally rebooting itself or just failing to be responsive to clicks -- even when not connected to my BMW at the time. Sometimes in my BMW the iPod would just not be found by the car. I kept thinking it was the not-so-great BMW code running the audio system. This older iPod was the one I took for walks/runs and got juggled around quite a bit. After tinkering with it for a few weeks, and my figuring out it occasionally failed both in and out of the car, I made a donation of it, and just got a new one. My BMW worked fine with the iPod until I sold it, and now it's in my 2013 Lexus, happily playing tunes for me.

IPod crashes occasionally
I have a 2015 RX350 and two almost identical very old 6Gen iPods (120 and 160GB). Both of them occasionally reboot and start playing a random piece. This happens every once 3 to 5 days.
In all fairness, the same happened in 2012 Honda CR-V before, so I do not think this is a Lexus issue.
BTW, outside of cars, both iPods work fine - very seldom crashes, excellent battery life. And I tried several cables (genuine and knock-offs) with the same effect.
