Default New Bumper Cover?

I am so mad at myself. My 2012 RX is only 3 months old. Today, I was backing out of a parking space at a local Albertson and accidentally hit a pole while backing out. My front bumper cover is now loose and I think I pushed back my headlight. I don't think I damaged my fender or the headlight and only my bumper cover is messed up. Any idea how much this will cost me? I am so mad at pissed at myself for being so careless!

In case you were wondering, I was backing out left and not paying attention to the front hit my right front bumper.

Also, anyone in the Diamond Bar, CA area know a good body shop they can recommend?

If you go through your auto insurance company, it will probably cost you your deductible on your policy. My daughter seriously damaged the front-end of her ES a few years ago. It was about $5,000 to repair. It sounds like you have much less damage ... I would expect $2,000 or so.

If its just the bumper cover itself, I don't see it costing more than $1k to replace with a new one even after paint and install. Bumper cover itself should run you around $400+shipping and figure another $400ish for paint+install.

Ed, we're just other owners out here in the ether. You're gonna have to contact the dealer and/or a body shop. Probably should go to one to see what else inside might need replacing just so everything will fit properly. We've not even seen what you have, your car.

10 years ago I damaged the back bumper cover on my Town Car; $500 for a bumper cover, $500 for paint because it has to have flex put in it so it does not crack; Cost Exactly $1k....I am sure more now; I would call Lexus for the cost of the bumper cover and that would give you an idea!!!

I have noticed that you can buy used bumper covers on ebay for a lot less than I would expect.

With the CL discount, Sewell has the bumper cover priced at $292.46 + $96.52 shipping to a random zip code in Diamond Bar.

I had the rear bumper cover on my 2012 replaced a month ago and it was $1017, including the various screws, connectors, etc.

I feel your pain! I recently damaged the rear bumper cover on my 2012 RX. Lexus dealer wants $1400 to replace. They also referred me to the body shop that does bumper repairs for them. The quote was $400 to repair. Haven't done anything yet.

Thanks for all the replies! I am going to the body shop tomorrow to get an estimate and will let everyone know. I'll also post a pic later.

Smart move. I'm sure a quality body shop will save you considerable money versus having the work done by your local Lexus dealer.

I damaged my rear bumper cover last month trying to take out one of those Century portable concrete steps i bought. I know i shouldn't have used a lexus to haul around concrete steps, oh well. Lesson learned.
