What's missing is a way to close the sunroof and windows with the key fob.

Technically there is using the key in the fob. Turning it left closes all the windows and sunroof. Locks it too. Beats having to jump back in the RX and turning it on to do the same thing.

I guess my fob is not programmed to open the windows. Tried it yesterday and did not work. One click and then hold the button. Nada.

Forgive my ignorance, what's a "fob"?

Fob - that thing used to start, open and lock your car. The key that's not a key. Well, it's got a key hidden inside of it.

"Fob" (in this context) = the rectangular unit with remote buttons and transponder unique to your RX you probably keep in your pocket (with physical key for the driver's door inside of it). Also, Wikipedia offers this more general definition about halfway down.

Confirming that it works as you describe. I will just add that "you turn it counterclockwise and hold it" until everything closes and locks.

This is probably old news to those of you that actually took the time to read the manual in it's entirety, but for those of you that are retarded like me, this may be something you didn't know. Kind of a nice feature if your returning to a really hot car.
My 99 RX had the feature. It is one of the absolute best features of the car in a hot climate. Both our current cars (RX-350 and ES-350) have it. But, IIRC, the ES-350 required some setup in the menu. For some reason, the default was to disable the feature.
