Default Audio off when shut car off

It's annoying. When you turn off the engine, the audio cuts off. BMW and Volvo allow the audio to run after turning off the engine. Can this be coded into the Lexus? I hate when I am on the middle of a conversation and I park and I want to turn the engine off but I lose the conversation.

Shut the engine off while in gear, then put it into park. The accessories will remain on. You'll have to press the start button again to turn them off.
And, at the risk of sounding rude - RTFM!

Or just pressing the start button with out stepping on brake turns on accessories including radio (from completely off).

Why should I read the manual when I have helpful folks like you?

Perhaps you'll spot something we missed, and then it's your turn to play the wise ***

This works well when you are on the phone with BT connected.

Lexus is way behind the times in this regard, even my 2004 Buick keeps the audio on for 15 minutes or so, or until the door is opened. Lexus likes to shut everything down, including the window operation......dumb design on a luxury car.

Guess I'm not the only one. It's a pain to park the car, turn it off and realize the bluetooth is immediately turned off in the middle of a conversation. Just my $0.02

I guess I've had BT in my vehicle long enough that I usually remember to grab the phone and switch the audio source back to the phone b4 I push the OFF button. Of course, occasionally I too am scrambling to get my phone out.

I did this once and forgot to put it in park. The car slowly rolled back and I didn't notice until I heard the horn of an approaching car.

Our jeep keeps the radio/ bt on even after u shut the car off and that's why I'm so use to thinking it won't cut me off.

I'm with Evitzee on this...what a stupid and counterintuitive design. Shut the engine off in "Drive?" Ree-****-a-lous!

I'll have to try this in our '09 TCH.
