I have removed posts about buying/selling the roof rails. Please post them in our classifieds section. Thank you.

Default Factory cross bars removed today from rool rails by dealer

No method for removal is shown in the manual.
Dealer states they are not meant to be taken off and reinstalled by the owner.
I have seen descriptions here as to how to remove them but figured I would let the dealer remove them today at my free 30 day checkup.
Dealer states the factory recommended way is to remove the rubber plug at the end of the roof rail and then undo the fastener(s) that hold the roof rail end bracket in place. Then you can slide the cross bars out. This sounded odd to me as I would have thought the only way toloosen the roof rails is by coming in from under the headliner.
At least there was no charge to remove them.

Anyone else been told this at the dealer?

No wind noise now ...

That's the way they come off. You either have them or you don't. Not really a quick on/off. I completely removed mine, rails and all.

Default RX350 Roof Rack Removal

I like the look of the RX without the roof rack. I have seen some recent photos without the rack. Does anyone know if the rack can be removed an if there is some kind of strip available to cover the space once removed?

I removed mine. You can get the whole kit from Sewell with bolts, clips, and covers. Do a search for the instillation instructions with pics.

The source below is probably the best one for how to remove the roof racks. If you have any questions I can hep you with it. Not as hard as it looks in the pictures but you definitely need to know what you are doing. The bolts you remove are longer than the ones you receive from Sewell and you must make sure you get them sealed properly.
