Default Rear Brake Noise on 2010 RX350

Hello everyone. My 2010 RX350 AWD with about 20,500 miles on it just recently started a rear brake noise, or maybe it was always there but it just recently got louder.

When I'm in reverse and I have the brake pushed down half way while backing the car out of a parking spot I hear a "rubbing" sound coming from the rear of the car. It doesn't matter if the brakes are hot or if it is in the morning, the sound is always there and it always can be duplicated.

I took it into the dealer and they measured my brake pads, fronts at 9mm and rear at 7.5 mm. They checked everything on the car and said there were no leaks and nothing is wrong with the car.

I took a ride with the tech in my car and he heard the sound but he said it was normal and we even took out a loaner RX350, which also made the sound but it wasn't as loud as mine. The loaner had 10,000 miles on it.

I just wanted to see if everyone else is experiencing this sound. Maybe Lexus can find a way to repair the sound, it is very annoying everytime I am backing out the car in reverse. I have passengers ask me why my Lexus was making sounds while reversing with my foot on the brake pedal halfway.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I had a big issue with this on my 2011 rx350 when I first but it new. went back and forth to the dealer 4 times before they got it right. The rear Keeps making a clicking noise but it has nothing to do with the rear brake pads or so I thought.

The noise is coming from the contact points behind the rotor which causes the e-brake to expand the dealer will have to dissemble the brake assembly and lube up everything.

Any noise that comes from braking has to do with metal on metal contact have them lube every contact point. If its pad shift then the pads need to be replaced.
