Default Looking for faster manual access to destination assist

Currently to manually access destination assist I have to press menu then select destination which brings up the map and no menu. Then I have to press menu again which brings up a selection for destination assist. Is there a faster way? I have a 2012.

what do you mean pushing destination brings you to the map? Do you mean it brings you back to the warning screen which then goes to the map?

I believe there is no other way

Voice command "Destination" then "Destination Assist" or "Destination" then "Call Destination Assist"

Assuming you've acknowledged the warning or it timed out it, should be: <Menu>, <Destination>, <Destination Assist>, <Call Destination Assist>

If the map shows up, it's probably due to not acknowledging the warning as RXSF indicated.

^^ What I dont understand is why the voice command needs the "Destination" step first. You should just be able to say, "call destination assist" from the beginning.

Your right you have to press menu. Press destination. Press enter to acknowledge the warning. The map comes up. Press menu. Press destination assist.

Could this be made simpler? You have to press enter and guide the mouse 5 times!

well to be fair, if you had your nav screen on the map by default, you would be able to get the warning instantly when starting the car. then you would only have to click menu, destination, then destination assist.

You can press the map button above remote touch to bring up the map screen. Press it a second time to eliminate the warning screen. Normally it takes a few seconds to go away on its own. Then press menu to get to the main screen. It's a little easier than using remote touch for everything.

Thanks Anita, that eliminates a step and less mouse movement. It's all about keeping your eyes on the road.

Possible, if Lexus would create a "reserved" or permenant contact in your address book / contact list. The call command brings up the phone's contact list.

Not sure that the car uses your cell to dial destination assist. Your contact list uses your cell.

Correct. A permenant contact could be routed through the car's cell, if the service is paid for.

I said "possible", not probable or likely.
