Hello, I'm wondering what discounts to asking prices I can expect on 2010 CPO RX350 w/nav? Currently looking at a black with tan interior, premium pkg, comfort pkg, in the NYC area. Dealer asking about 36k, wondering what is realistic to get them, down to?

In general how much off asking can be expected?

That is mid ranged price. Not matter what it is listed for, always ask for a discounted price. An extra 5% off is not unwarranted and others might say to give a lower price than that. Have a look to see what is available in your area:

Make sure to know if it is a Lexus CPO or a dealer CPO. Dealers will clean up a vehicle and call it a CPO, saying it went through all the checks. Warranties will be different.

Also, if you find a quality non-CPO vehicle that is still under the Lexus standard warranty you can still purchase an extended warranty if your choose to do so. Search the forums here and you will see recommendations from others on where you can purchase a Lexus extended warranty on the cheap. Does not need to be from your dealer.

Make sure they do not back load charges on you for paperwork, etc. If you do not get the deal you want, walk away. There will always be more.

This is helpful, thanks! I should have posted that it's 15k mi, so super lower miles. Car is not in the best condition, but it hadn't been detailed and certified yet. 5% sounds about right I think.

I'm not totally sold on the Lexus certified warranty either, especially since effectively half the CPO extended warranty will overlap with the current warranty, doesn't really justify the extra 3k cost or so, not sure if I'm missing something here...

A 2010 will only have around 1 year of the original warranty remaining. More on the powertrain. The value of the warranty is certainly debatable. If you're financing, it may bring some peace of mind. It did for us.

We just purchased a 2010 with 13,800 miles yesterday. The car has AWD and the luxury pkg, comfort pkg, nav pkg, and the Levinson stereo. The vehicle is in amazing condition. They were asking just under 40K and we got it for 38K, so a 5 percent reduction. We were looking to spend less than 35K but the combination of low miles, condition of the vehicle and extra options compared to most 2010 lease returns sold us.

That sounds like a really great deal, congrats!

My point on the warranty is that 1 year of the manufacturer warranty will overlap with the CPO warranty, so that seems wasteful (especially since we only drive 5k miles per year). Seems like the better idea for us would to buy non-CPO and purchase the warranty closer to when the manufacturer is about to expire.

You can only purchase it for about 2200 only if the car is still under warranty (within 4/50). Lexus is very tough to negotitate. I bought mine from a Mercedes dealer, I got 5K off the list. I got a 2011 FWD for 35K, mine is a hybrid

Just a heads up, prices will most likely go up in your area due to Sandy wiping out bunch of cars

I just purchased a CPO '10 RX350 with 20K miles for $32.4K last week. It's a FWD, premium package with 19'' wheels and back up monitor (no nav). The car is in excellent conditions and with Lexus's 3yr/100K miles warranty. I was holding out for a month or so more given that we're expecting our first newborn in Jan but once I saw this one with such low mileage I pulled the trigger.

In New York, you should easily be able to get one for 33K. If you're having trouble finding one, check out Lexus of Greenwich website. I've bought 3 RX's from them and just checked their website. They are easy to deal with and do negotiate. For 34-36K you can get a 2011. Don't believe the dealer when he says there is a shortage because of Sandy. Typical dealer garbage.

That's where I checked! They have a 2010 with 15k miles and nav for 36k. Feels like they should get to 33k or so. I still don't really get the value of the CPO since the base warranty covers half that time period.

They have 2 with less than 30K miles for around 33.5K. They are both CPO and you can definitely negotiate with them. Should get at least 1K off those prices. They are right off exit 3 on 95 in Conn.

As far as CPO is concerned, the warranty is 3 yrs. or 100K whichever comes first. So you are getting at least 2 yrs. more for free because I'm not seeing a big difference in selling prices for CPO and non CPO. Also, you get the same financing as a new car from lexus

Well, you can look at CPO from the perspective the vehicle has been thoroughly checked over and all services are up to date. Plus you get the extra warranty coverage. Looking at the dealer where my sales guy now works, not all of their 2010-2012 RXs are CPO. If I had to make a choice, I'd want one that is CPO for that extra assurance.
