Is there a way to import contact photos to the phonebook on 2013 RX 350? Each phonebook entry has a large icon with an outline of a head, which looks like a placeholder for a photo.
One more question: it looks like RX can read text messages. Does this feature depend on the car settings or a phone model? If I have one of supported phones, will this just work or I need to set something up?
Thanks.

I did some research on this and both functions are tied to Bluetooth profiles connected phone can support. For messages it needs to support MAP; for phonebook transfer it's PBAP. My phone does not support MAP but supports PBAP, although image transfer is not supported. If there's a workaround for this to work, it would be great to hear it. I checked phone compatibility on official site and couldn't find a single phone that supports image transfer...

I have Samsung Galaxy S3 and I can see the contact photo when I talk to that person on the navigation display. I don't have to do anything special. I just synchronize contacts via bluetooth.
I also can hear the text message if I am driving and can read it on the display otherwise. I can do quick reply with pre-written messages. Neat!
There are a few contacts that can't get into the car contact book. I am not sure why. I use google contacts in my phone.

Thanks for responses. According to lexus, phonebook image contact is not supposed to work on S3
This seems to be phone-specific, I initially thought this functionality depends on OS.
I have Galaxy Nexus and messages as well as contact photos don't work...
PS
Do you see song info with album cover when you play music over Bluetooth?

Yesterday I did some debug and found out that contacts with postal address can't make it to the car's phone book. I removed the postal address and can see the contact in the car.
