Just got a 2013 RX350 and have a few questions
Hi everyone,
I just bought a 2013 RX350 in the stargazer with parchment interior. It's a great vehicle (drives buttery smooth) and the color is so complex and interesting. I've always had white vehicles though (2010 Nissan Murano LE was my last vehicle) and decided to switch it up with black. I'm also loving the 20.8 avg mpg (my Murano was doing 19.7). Does gas mileage get better as the engine breaks in? It only has a couple hundred miles on it -but I'm curious did anyone else find the pick up initially a little heavy?
Now, as for the fact that it purports to use regular gas, I wanted to get the input of those who already have the vehicle. Are you really pumping regular gas and what grade? Secondly, is there any way that I can change the temperature controls of the driver side and passenger side at the same time so I don't sit there balancing the two sides out?
These are a lot of questions, I know. Thanks for anyone who takes a stab.

Welcome to the forum, you have a really nice ride. They switched to 87 octane on the 2012 RX 350 and it will do just fine, just buy from major dealers that pump a lot of gas.
RE: temp changes there is a lot of info in that very large set of books called the manual that make excellent go to bed with material . The split sides on temp control are a bonus to accommodate the preferences of both driver and passenger. HOWEVER !!! In the manual it'll tell you how to use voice commands to say something like "it's to warm in here" then the system will automatically lower the temp both sides. It's quite a car.
Post photos when you have the opportunity .

No, I don't play soccer!
Star231, welcome to CL. Congrats on your 350. Sounds like you're enjoying it already.
The answer to your first question is yes. The break-in period is 5K. Obviously things like weather and distance driven will be factors. You can read more about what everyone else is getting here. Same with what kind of gas. Jim got it right, regular should be fine for you.
I believe you need to be in the climate screen to disable dual mode. Take a look while you're sitting in the driveway. If something is greyed out, turn on the RX to access it. There's lots of stuff with play with in there. Have fun discovering it all.
