@JOEB427- You are right, they don't have a good rep at all, talked to someone i know at lexus of edison who used to work there and the things that were said, forget about it! I will look into them though. Funny, Ray Catena has the best rep in moving cars in volume yet they can't do SH--T

You're not SOL, you just don't get the tax savings...but you don't have to pay thousands of dollars upfront in taxes either, think of it that way.
You can still trade out of it if you can get your payoff, or close to it. If you're going to have to pay $2,500, if you can get them to give you $22,500 for the RX, I say do it.
Your payoff will go down $500 every month, but your mileage costs will keep going up $250 a month if you're driving 1,000 miles...
Take it to Carmax and maybe list it for sale for $23k, $24k and see what happens.

My GS deal went very smooth as did others.TriCounty is very close to my home.
Jim Nicoletti has been a Lexus salesman for over 16 years and is good.
I've dealt with Prestige in Ramsey once because I had a BMW trade and they have a BMW dealership which got me more of a trade number .and the discount off the sticker was as good as TriCounty's.
A lot of online problems with TriCounty's used car dept.
Prestige does more volume than Catena in the NE.They're #1 and Pohanka in VA is #2.

Before you take it to Carmax or anywhere else too, get it cleaned up really good. Carmax will overpay for a car at times thats really clean. If you've ever looked at their cars, they are typically pretty expensive. I've sold 2 or 3 cars to Carmax, and thats because they do overpay sometimes. They gave me $2,500 more for our Prius than anybody else wood, overpriced it and it sat there for months, but it was REALLY clean.
$2,500 more on a $10,000 trade is a LOT. 25%...obviously.

No Carmax in Jersey. I looked a while ago for a friend. The nearest location is quite a distance away. In the past I've gotten trade-in prices from my BIL to get an idea about what the dealer should give me. Obviously I could have held out for more by selling privately but that's too much of a hassle. Plus the tax savings on trade-in made up the potential difference.
I've only dealt with Lexus of Bridgewater. Bought all three RXs from them and only go there for service. They have the best SA Tri County is closest to me but I had a bad experience with them. So did a few other people I know. Sorry Joeb. Tony, you might want to try Lexus of Route 10 in Whippany, formerly Warnock. There are a few sales and service people from Bridgewater there, including my sales guy up until recently. He told me a few months ago that their motto is anything to get the deal done. Fortunately we have a few dealers to choose from around here.

Would you guys get a car with NAV in it considering these days our phones have the best of the best navigation apps, esp Google maps? Can one get an RX without the nav and it still comes with the back up camera and bluetooth? What do you think is better? non nav and or nav?

Tony, you should drive an RX with and without nav to make that decision. It's very subjective. I've seen both, they do exist. And I think Lexus changed the non-nav equipped RXs in 2013 to include back up camera. Bluetooth is a given.
Yes, Bridgewater and Edison are now owned by Penske. They used to part of United Auto Group, Bridgewater was known as DiFeo. I still have magnets and a stress ball with that name on it. Unfortunately my sales guy, Don Lombardi, is not at Lexus of Route 10 anymore. I'd recommend talking to Joe Fass. He used to be at Bridgewater and has been with Lexus for a long time. Nice guy.

@kitlz - You are right. I'm gonna test drive both tomorrow. Just not sure if NAV is needed anymore as one can carry their iPad and use that via Bluetooth. That's a savings of $2k at least. I'm gonna get in touch with joe and see what he gotta say. Thank you.
You guys have been awesome I love how one can learn so much with the help of these forums. I truly hope I can get into the new ride even thought my current one is beautiful I just want the next toy lol.
Anyone driven an Audi? Think its a good switch? All I've heard is there are a lot of problems with them and are in the shop a lot. Personally after test driving an Infiniti G 37 Coupe, Benz C230 coupe, Audi A5 coupe when I sat back and drove my 2010 ES it was just the smoothest ride, Lexus is just amazing. Thoughts?

I would never buy one without nav if only because resale really suffers when you don't have nav...
