Honestly, as a first-time poster, and even with some possible language challenges, are you sure you're in the right place or is your link simply SPAM trying to invade our forum? Moderators?

I have tried your suggestion this afternoon and when I do it all I could see was "Forget this Device: option and nowhere it was giving me an option to transfer phone book to the car.
I am pretty sure that the contacts on an iPhone stay on phone, not on SIM card as we "SYNC" the phone to iTunes or ICloud, not the SIM card. I also tried removing the SIM card and see if contacts still stay on phone and they are. May be I should call Lexus Customer Service and find out what they have to offer for this. Remember, my phone worked fine in a Dodge Grand Caravan...

Well, this sucks. I just went to Lexus website and did a search on word "bluetooth" and it gave me a link to see available options on this vehicle

According to this, you cannot transfer phone book entries to the car's MM system.

And the discussion of sim cards or on phone storage is a moot point. The contacts are on the phone. Try putting the iPhone in "Airplane Mode" and then look up your contacts. They should be there. If they are not then I agree they are only in the iCloud. (unlikely, but possible depending how you set up your iPhone, iPad, and computer(s)). I don't think the car cares if the contacts are on a sim or in phone memory, they are there. Tell the car to go get them.
Again this discussion is only about model years 10-12 and with navigation.

On a 2010-2012 RX with navigation, if you are paired and you look at an iPhone and the only thing the iPhone says is "forget this device", that would seemed to indicated you are successfully paired. NOW in the car go to the menu item to connect to the phone and on the page with the keypad for dialing on the left hand side is a button called "Contacts", click it and the car should ask about transferring the contacts. Do it and after it is all done, if you look at the page on your iPhone again, it will now list some options where it was a blank page before. If not the way you want it, change those options and go back to the car and transfer again. The car should now match the iPhone, the way you want it.
Read that page again, it says you can transfer phonebook entries to most likely a 2010-2012 with navigation.

David,
I have a 2010 rx350 without navigation,
Would that be compatible?

I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong, the navigation version is capable of phonebook access and the non-navigation system is not. I also believe the 4s and older iPhones cannot "send" phonebooks. Again, someone correct me if I'm giving out incorrect information.
The available process is described in a section of the RX350 2010 manual starting on page 366.
I read this on an Apple Discussion Forum:
Meaning they used a Nokia to transfer the contacts they had in their iPhone.

I read this on an Apple Discussion Forum:
Yep you are right. The specs for the Hyundai unit dont say it support PBAP it does AADP and ARCP so it does the music thing etc but not the phonebook. My solution will be to use my Nokia to upload the contacts that way.

^^^ David, I believe you're correct. I just played with the Lexus site I referenced in my post #14 (that I recommend others try), and I put in e.g. a 2012 RX350 with and without Nav, with an iPhone 5 on AT&T... No Nav is not enabled for multiple phone book entries, Nav is. It would be easy for others to put in the combinations specific to their situation and see what is and is not supported instead of asking folks here those questions on the many permutations that exist. I would also offer that it is generally best for people to keep iOS updated as new releases come out... There have been fixes and enhancements provided by Apple in the past that either resolved problems some were having with connectivity to their car or provided more functionality to those that stayed current. Older posts here over the last several years would provide examples if anyone wants to pursue it. I suspect the same sort of thing is true when it comes to keeping Android devices as current as the owner can.

As the OP unfortunately found, it all depends upon the capability that your phone has, combined with that of the Lexus head unit for the MY Lexus you have -- with or without Nav. There is a lot of complexity in Bluetooth implementations from release to release and what disparet phone manufacturers do with their devices that is well beyond any car manufacturers control as time and technology progresses.
While the OP is miffed -- and I appreciate the disappointment -- I'm sorry, but don't consider it necessarially a defect by Lexus if a particular phone does not perhaps provide the Bluetooth functionality expected at any point in time. E.g. I don't know from the OP post what the phone is, if it's really old or a challenge because of say with some even more recent iPhones where Apple does not seem to have enabled more complete functionality in iOS as other manufacturerers have. It's a constantly moving target. This site http://lexus.com/lexus/mobilelink/#selectVehicle/ is where to check on what functionality is available or not with a particular phone and Lexus MY, with and without Nav.
FWIW, perhaps because I have 35+ years in hardware and software programming/support, and while I hate the complexity, I acknowlege the moving technology challenges that are beyond any single manufacturer. I also validated with that Lexus site that my iPhone 4 at the time had acceptable functionality with the 2012/13 RX which I ordered almost 8 months in advance of it's delivery, as well as checking on a similar MBZ site that my newer iPhone 5 would work as I expected before I ordered my 2013 MBZ SLK last month. Everything works as I expected it should in my 2013 RX 450h with an iPhone 5, and I'm confident that same iPhone will function as I expect in my new MBZ when I take delivery next month.

I have an I-Phone 4 when I go to SETTINGS, then BLUETOOTH I do not see a car multimedia button. Is that only on the I-Phone 5?

- Enter your Lexus model, MY and Nav yes/no; then Carrier, Phone and Model
- You'll then see a screen with compatibility information specific to that combination
- At the bottom of that screen, select "continue" and you'll be presented on the left with a series of bluetooth instructions for pairing, etc that are specific to the Lexus and Phone you have
Hope that helps! IMO, it's pretty slick and a good self-sufficiency website that's helped me a number of times.

I have a 2012 with a palm phone. The contacts transferred. The problem is there is no way to automatically transfer updates without duplicating all of your contacts on the car.
#26
Can't you delete them from the car and then transfer all of them from the phone to car. No duplicates??? Granted not automatic, but takes just a few minutes.

Cannot transfer iPhone 4S contacts to '09 GS350 w/Nav
Going to see the dealer Technology Specialist tomorrow.
Transfered my wife's contacts from her non-smartphone with no problem.
System pairs and does manual dial on my phone with no problem.
