Just put Cross Climate 2s on my wife’s 2015 RX350 and they are noticeably noisier than the Michelins that were on before. I can also feel more vibration throughout the cabin. Looking forward to the snow/rain performance.

Just an FYI to anyone that's curious- I just replaced my Yokohama's('15 RX350) with some Pirelli "Scorpion A/S+3"s. I went up to a size 235/65-18 (107H) for a bit better ride- gained a 1/2" of each sidewall for cushion and am very happy with these. (PS- TireRack confirmed prior to purchase, this size would cause no interference issues and they were correct) They also scored at the top for noise & comfort BTW...

I did something very similar and fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATR with a slightly higher profile. This much more aggressive pattern will obviously increase road noise levels, but I finally feel that the RX450h can actually travel over moderate dirt roads, and fields with confidence which I do not hold with the factory road slicker tyres.

Ran the Pirelli Scorpion AS2 for 40k miles on my 2011 and they are noisy as hell and howl now. Ready to get rid of them since they detract from the quiet cabin experience. Disappointed in them and their traction in light rain during highway speeds is dismal with perhaps 4/32 of tread remaining. Definitely not going to install the AS3.

Check out the Continental CrossContact LX25. After doing significant research a couple of years ago, I installed a set on my wife's 2015 RX350 in August 2022 and they have been fantastic. Reasonably priced, comfortable ride, great wet traction, no tramlining, even treadwear, and still quiet even at highway speeds. And a 70,000-mile treadwear warranty from Discount Tire.

That's interesting- I guess you can try to equate a previous version of a tire with it's "new & improved" successor to some degree, but that's usually why a tire maker updates their offerings- to improve upon an offering... Also, as a tire aficionado also who worked at a performance wheel/tire dealer in years gone by, we saw what 40,000 miles of heat-cycles did to all tires eventually, especially those in warm/hot and/or dry climates. So the debate rages on. Your results may vary...

Hiya all
Back again still dithering about what to replace our aging Michelin Latitude Tour HP with.
Major suggestions here and from Lexus have been Michelin CC2.
But after lotsa (too much) research I am still at a quandary of what to pick for my replacements.

Last week I talked to another 2011 Rx owner who has had his CC2 for over 16k kms.
After a great winter run with them, and now coming back into Spring he is now not happy with them: too much road noise and his fuel consumption has taken a 10% hit!
All his mechanical checks out ok.
With the uber-high prices of gas here nowadays, that figure can make a huge difference. And like me he uses 87 octane with no problem. 91 octane would be nuts.

So, am I back to looking at another reboot of expensive Latitudes ?
They have lasted a long time (after 9 years they are still at 6/32). But at 30k they became noisy, and have always been terrible on ice and wet roads.

Someone else here suggested Continentals (LX25). Some local shops are now carrying them, so maybe ...maybe??

And nope, still cannot drop to H-rated tires like the Defender 2. No shop here (incl Costco) will install or warranty out of manufacturer V-rated specs.

Anymore real world suggestions is appreciated

If no local shops carry the Continental LX25, there is the option of buying them on tirerack and having them shipped to their preferred local installer. I am also close to shopping for replacements for my 2011 and leaning towards trying the General Altimax rt45.

Perhaps the odd garage tho -- but then I'll have little recourse if things go bad.

There are now a couple of dealers that offer Continentals.
Nokian One is popular here, but I have next to no Lexus vehicle-specific data on them.

Rotated the 235/55/19 101H-rated Continental CrossContact LX25 tires (installed in August 2022) on my wife's 2015 RX350 FWD yesterday morning as part of my 100,000-mile service on that vehicle. After 20,000 miles, they still look almost new with perfectly even treadwear thus far. Hard to go wrong with these tires (I rotate every 5,000 miles).

I wonder just how similar they are to V-rated tires.

And here's your big questions: how quiet are they still, in comparison to the OE Michelins?
Have they experienced much Winter activity such as road ice braking?

I went with the H-rated version for longer tread life. These things are not sports cars or grand touring vehicles so no need for a V-rated tire in my opinion.

Her tires are still extremely quiet after 20,000 miles.

Our geographic area has not experienced snowy or icy weather in more than two years, so I cannot comment on that subject.

Wish I could opt for H-rated tires. That would open up lots more possibilities.
But all local shops (including Costco) will only install OE-specified rated tires -- in our case with the 2010 RX, they must be v-rated or higher.
