Should I get iPhone 4, 4S, or 5 for bluetooth/address book etc to work?
I am trying to see which iPhone I need to make everything work properly with Bluetooth. Should I get iPhone 4, 4S, or 5 for address book etc to work? Can anyone with any of those 3 versions tell me what works and doesn't work?
My Samsung android works about half the time even though it shows up on the Lexus list. The tech guy at Lexus has worked with me and we can't get it consistent. He says they have the least amount of complaints with iPhones. I neglected to ask him if 4 or 4S were okay.
Thanks Dorothy

Dorothy, go to the Lexus.com/Bluetooth website. Put in your RX, year, and then each of the three devices in turn. A screen will come up will everything that does and does not work for each combination. You can compare from there and make a good decision.
Personally, I have an iPhone 5, and everything I want to work, does, including transfer of my iPhone contacts to the phone. My iPhone 4 worked too. I have no issues other than Lexus Apps sometimes not connecting or Pandora, etc that are part of Enform dropping out, but that's a known issue just recently discussed here. There are other threads in the forum on Bluetooth stuff -- search on "bluetooth" and "address book", and you'll see most of the more recent threads.

Hi fellow Iowan,
I have a 4s running iOS 6.1.2 and contacts transfer just fine. The only problem I have on occasion is the iPhone switches the call from bluetooth to internal speaker once in awhile. Doesn't drop the call, just switches and that is a minor nuisance.
I use it as a bluetooth music source and yesterday while waiting in a parking lot Iistened to a YouTube video. Watched on the iPhone, listened on the car. Shazam and SoundHound work fine too. I have a 2012 RXh.
Although the camera in the 5 is similar to the 4s, it has some additional features which may be a benefit to you too. Sorry, if I'm telling you things you already know....

I have a 4 and I have it unlocked to use with Tmobile. I dont have issues for the most part but it does loose connection when I switch modes sometimes. I have to reconnect the Bluetooth to stream my music after completing a call through the cars Bluetooth.
