2013 RX350--First Service 6mo/5k service
I am curious what they really do at 5k ? I have no known issues. The personalized settings intrigues me. I am happy with mine but am curious if there is a consensus on must changes in the settings. I would have them rotate the tires and check fluids I guess.
Thoughts on settings changes would be appreciated 19 thru 30 are dealer only.. Thanks Dorothy

Personalized Settings; Driveshaft Bolts
Thanks for that link to personalized settings. I thought I'd done all mine, but I'll have to check with my wife about her preferences for the dealer-only settings.
Going in Tuesday for the 5000 mile service.
I am going to ask them to show me the driveshaft bolts that need inspection/tightening. In eleven years of Highlander ownership I never quite understood those.
I was surprised to find the oil change interval was 10,000 miles, especially the first one.

Here is what I would change:
21. Slide/Tilt Moonroof with Elec. Key
When option #19 is on, the moonroof can be programmed for the following:
□ Slide. (Standard)
□ Tilt
29. Unlocking of Rear Door
When pressing the rear door button on the electronic key:
□ The rear door opens. (Standard) = On
□ The rear door opens and all doors unlock. = Off
If equipped.
30. Opening Rear Door
When pressing the back door opener button on the rear door, the power door function
engages and the door opens completely:
□ OFF. (Standard)
□ ON.
#30 is the one must-change item. It will make use of the power rear door when pressing the button on the door itself, instead of having to open it manually.

If you prefer to open the door by hand it would be faster than waiting for the automatic opener to do it. That thing is slow.

Lead Lap
The default setting for head lights timer is turn off in 30 seconds. I'm not used to having it still on after I exit the car and walked away so I changed it to turn off immediately.

Wouldn't it make more sense to press the button on your remote if you are going to use a button anyway? That way the door will have already opened by the time you reach it.

Exactly! I agree, #30 is a good one to change. I had them change mine at delivery!

Ditto for me also. I had that done on my 2010 and now on the 2013.
