Need some help. I have a 2010 RX 450 H FWD with 235,000 miles. Love it and it has been basically trouble free. I do mostly interstate travel. Not sure about whether or not to tempt the Gods on taking this to 300,000. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You have 235K mostly trouble free miles so I'm sure you have maintained it well..If it was me I would keep racking up the miles.. If you're thinking of selling it, IMO I don't think that an add'l 65K miles is going to change your resale value that much at this point..

2010 RX350 AWD, 178,000 miles as of this weekend.

I have had a lot of maintenance done on this car, but only 1 minor 'repair' - rear brake bracket broke once and had to be replaced during a brake job. All fluids have been changed according to recommended schedule at Lexus dealerships. I do the oil changes at home Mobile One 0w-20 every 5,000-10,000 miles.

Its a noisy little engine in these things. Mine has had the ticking noise since I bought it, but I have learned to ignore it. I have listened to many other Lexus/Toyotas with this engine and the sound is common.

Hoping to take this car to 300,000 miles and beyond. I currently am averaging 25,000 per year, so it shouldn't take long.

Updating this, saw a friend’s 2010, bought it with 4K in 2011 as a dealer demo. Currently has 245,300 and he is not a car person. Said it has had minimal to no problems and no real maintanece other than oil and brakes.

Anyone have a higher mileage count than that on their Gen3?

Sandi
that is fairly a low mileage Gen3RX. mine is early 2010RX we purchased as it was coming down from the truck.Mine now has 118k but first 100k were put-on taxing my boys all over NE during hockey season. with both boys in college, it's averaging 7k-8k a year.

I got my 2010 RX in June of 2012 with about 20k miles, 5 years later I now have about 114k. Oil changes have been my only expense so far.

Default Many worry free miles

My 2011 was purchased with 141k. It now has 187k. Whoever had before me took excellent care of it and drove it easy. Everything I’ve looked at since I bought has been in tip top shape, and I intend to keep it that way. Had to replace a wheel bearing, but other than that one repair, it’s only been regular maintenance.

Dude, the post you quoted was from several years back. May 2013, to be exact. Check the dates!

I just turned over 210,000 miles yesterday.

Sandi - have you never thought about doing a transmission fluid change? My wife drives 2010 RX350 AWD. Bought it Jul 2015 with 74k and now has about 93k miles. Got both front transmission fluid as well as rear differential fluid changed few weeks ago. My indy mechanic said that the transfer case fluid level and condition was just fine so didn't do it.

I actually went over the complete maintenance schedule before deciding on what items to get done. Got the brake fluid flushed too since we didn't know when it was last done. Next item would be to replace the radiator coolant in about a year or so.

The rear shocks were leaking when we bought the car so got that done as well as both front and rear brake pads at the time of purchase.

Anything else I should be looking out for?

I had a old Lexus with 362,786.
Clean mass flow meter
Clean Throttle body
Change spark plug
change water pump/pulley/Tensioner
change Serpentinebelt.

Then you will be good for 200K.

Sandi - you mentioned earlier that you liked the Yoko's better than the Nitto and got 62k miles from them. So did you go with the Nitto's just due to the little extra miles? Were they comparable to the Yoko's in all other parameters? My wife has a 2010 RX350 AWD and will be needing tires sometime next year - so just to trying to put a scratch list together for when the time comes to do more research and pull the trigger.

I am Michelin man. The best and safe ride.
Low mileage compare to others but harden rubber make ride rough and noisy.
50,000 miles is max for me per tire set.
