I've changed tranny fluid every 50k miles; differential and transfer case fluid at similar intervals.

Yep - fluid and filter changes have been the majority of the maintenance work I've done on this car.

Anything else I should be looking out for?
I haven't had leaking shocks or struts - all original still at 212K miles. The strut on the rear hatch is starting to fail.

Other things I've done: fuel filter; PCV valve replacement; re-torque the drive shaft and axle bolts; replace fob battery; AC and cabin filter (easy and cheaper to DIY); alignment; replace wiper blades; replace the transfer case gear oil; replace all rubber hoses and couplings; replace thermostat and housing seal (the last 3 items at 200k mileage).

My wife has a 2010 RX350 AWD and will be needing tires sometime next year - so just to trying to put a scratch list together for when the time comes to do more research and pull the trigger.
The Yokos felt a little softer (I have the Sport suspension) and they were a little quieter than the Nittos - but I didn't get 62k from them - I got 62k from the Nittos. So I couldn't bear buying the Yokos when I could get nearly 50% longer usage from the Nittos. So I've bought the Nittos, and plan on 60k miles (or 2.5-3 years) from them.

Your 2004 is NOT 3rd Gen. The 3rd Gen started with the 2010 model year.

I just passed 199K miles yesterday. Oil changes every 10K, regular maintenance schedule, 1 battery and 3-4 sets of brakes. A/C stopped working yesterday - this may be the first non-consumable repair I'll need. I'm hoping it's just the relay. But even if it's big $$$ for a compressor, I can't complain after 9 years/200K.

I hit 230k miles last week.

Replaced the battery last year, did front and rear brakes a few months back. Only other item that's "non standard" was to have the steering column lubed because it groaned and crackled when hot.

Well, I had to let go of my RX 450 h (2010) after getting estimate on air conditioning repair and soon to be required maintenance items. Closest dealer too far and we needed a reliable car for long distance. Hated to do this and will follow all of your exploits with envy. I got to 274,000 enjoyable miles. Thanks for the advice along the way.

Where is the fuel filter? I have not seen this mentioned very often. At a measly 114k miles, will have to be doing the spark plugs soon. thanks

Hello!!
My 2009 ES350 had rear ended and total last week.
With money from insurance I have purchased 20011 RX350 with 155,000 miles from Lexus dealer.
Just about 7 years and 155K.
This cars looks unbelievably like new.
I am expecting to use another 150K.

And it's in the shop today for the 240k service.

Oil & filter, differential fluid change, coolant flush, spark plugs, re-torque drive shaft and axle bolts.

Probably time to replace the struts and shocks, but DH will do that for me.

OK, so this is now Year 9, Month 10 of ownership for the RX 350. And it is now time to sell it and move on to the next car adventure.

My last repair/maintenance item was Friday - replaced a TPMS sensor on the rear passenger tire so that the dash light would go away - in preparation for a possible trade-in discussion with the Toyota dealer.

So it's official - I have bought a 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, AWD, and will be selling the RX. The dealer lowballed the trade-in at ~ 53% of clean "owner sale price."

So I will be ending this journey, having put 256,500 miles on the car. I will sell it myself; even with the averaged "clean FSBO" value of the Edmunds, Kelley and NADA reports at $8,500, the dealer didn't make a decent offer. I would have been willing to let it go for $7k (retail is $10k). They offered $4500, so I said nope.

So pics will be taken tomorrow, the CL posting will go live soon, and I will no longer be a ClubLexus owner. I may still check in every now and then, but I wanted to say Thank You to all here - most especially @kitlz .

2010 RX350 with just over 221k problem free miles. oil changed every 7500 - 8500 miles. Think i can take it to 300k before its time to let it go.

2012 RX350 with 216K, mostly all highway. Never any major issues - always changed the oil religiously. I got this car from my Mom and some of the stuff was never tended to, so I changed the plugs recently and changed the transfer and differential fluids. My next task will be changing the coolant (hasn't been done since ~80k) and I will likely change the transmission fluid (never changed! eek). The tranny shifts great and I'm hoping that all the highway miles make it fine to change at this point.
