Oh, absolutely agree. Even without a tape measure, the RX has perhaps even a foot more room in the rear, much better for kids than the Jeep.

I would believe that about the wheel wells in the Jeep too...haven't tried obviously but the cargo area is pretty narrow, and high.

Default Traded a 2008 Highlander Limited Hybrid on my F Sport

I would not have another Highlander, it rides terribly, like a station wagon.
The F Sport package fixes the RX and makes it a highly desirable SUV.
Turns heads, handles well, good looking, drives like a sports SUV.
Great interior with the black and white perforations.
Love the wheels and they are easy to clean.
5000 miles and the MPG average is 21.4 with not much Interstate driving.
The 8 speed transmission is a game changer for this SUV.
It is not just a girl's car with the F Sport Package!
I like it a lot and my wife does too....gm

After seeing the interior on the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland or the Summit, I came away very impressed with the look and quality of the interior. Love the panoramic sunroof also. I'm still a little gun shy about the reliability of a Jeep. I haven't driven one yet, but would strongly consider it if I should ever decide I might want to stray from Lexus.

Panoramic sunroof is a feature that is sorely lacking in the RX. Also while the interior quality is the highest, interior design could use a lot of work. I did a lot of comparison shopping but ended up getting the RX anyway. I hope Lexus is listening to us for the 4RX!!!

What about the interior design of the Jeep was an issue for you?

Nothing, I was pointing out the mediocre interior design in the RX, not the Jeep.

Ah! Misunderstood, sorry...

That I agree with, a lot of questionable decisions were made when laying out the RX's interior IMHO...

funny thing is that even though the interior design is not everyone's favorite, the RX still remains the best selling luxury SUV my a long mile...

How much rear room you have compare the GS and RX? I recently upgraded infant seat to recaro proride, installed center rear facing, definitely makes the Rx rear section look and feel ridiculous small. My son will turn 6 month next week and it's already pretty painful putting him in without bumping his head to the ceiling. Maybe the car seat is too big for Rx....

Btw, the stiff Rx suspension help kid sleep better as I think most of them like bumpier ride.

You won't find a vehicle with more carseat room in the second row than the RX unless its a minivan. The GX is tighter in that row than the RX, the RX is unusually spacious.

You might want to look at an Infiniti JX35/QX60. Begs the question though, how much longer until your son is out of the rear facing carseat? I'd try a new carseat before I got killed trading in the car.

He's only 6 month so I say another 1 1/2 year maybe. I just move and tilt my back seat back to the max and my wife say its a bit better.

Interesting the GX is tighter. I will have to check it out again....
