Default What's protecting your Rx's?

I know the title is a bit misleading and of course we all have alarms in our Rx's but this topic is aimed more at exterior accessories. Stuff like those hideous bully bumper protectors, side moldings, door guards, window deflector/visors, clear bra? things like that.

I wanted to see if anyone have any of these or others on their Rx's. And maybe some recommendations of products specially for the Rx model.

My family will be getting a Rx350 soon and I want to make sure it gets taken care of. Especially when it comes to city parking.

I plan on buying
- Bumpshox front license plate protector.
- Oem window Visor's
- Sunroof visor
- Side body molding
- Clear Bra (If I can get the dealer to add this in along with the purchase) Or should I opt for 3M Paint Defender Spray?

What do you guys think?

My car has nothing apart from a simple super sealant . Ive found the clear bra and everything else to be a waste of time and money.

Mine came with clear bra on the front edge of the hood and on the drivers and passenger's mirrors. If I were to do it again I would look at getting it installed on the front bumper as well. The stuff really does a nice job of protecting the paint and you can barely see it.

I have the OEM visors and 3M clear bra covering the front bumper, side front fenders, full hood, side view mirrors and the A pillars. I should have added the area in front of the moonroof. In the three and half years on the RXh, the clear bra has a few compromised spots and scratches from I don't know what but no chips. I swore I would get it after having 2 RXs that had more than its fair share of pock marks on the bumper and hood.

The side door guards can be purchased from Sewell for less than $100. You can DIY or have a local place install them for you. Do not let the dealer charge you hundreds of dollars for it. The Bumpshox are pretty ugly and possibly illegal in a few states since it partially obstructs the plate. Brush guards would do a better job. I'd pass on the moonroof deflector. For safety, you may want to consider the glass breakage sensor and LoJack.

Adding a coat of sealant and/or wax is also a good idea. But it only goes so far.

I wish I had purchased the clear bra when our RX was new. Have many little chips in the front after several vacations. The door side moldings I bought were definitely a good investment. Especially if you saw all the little dings/scratches on the molding that would have been on the door itself. Don't know how anyone can do without them unless you just never park in a parking lot.

Wolfs hard body is a great sealant IMHO. Things have hit my car and not left a scratch because of it. Awesome stuff

Clear bra and side moldings. If I purchased a new car I would definitely have them put on.

I prefer the simpler look of the RX as it comes from the factory. I have it polyshielded which some say is a gimmick and have the ding protection, the RX is sturdier than some other Lexus. I did have a few dings removed in 3 years but that's about it. The car is parked mostly in parking lots but occasionally ventures to the city. When it comes out of the car wash it looks brand new and is shinier than other cars coming out of the same car wash.
