its a long shot, but does anyone know if a single moulding can be purchased? I noticed a few days after i took my RX350 through a car wash that my rear passenger door moulding was missing.

Not from Lexus -- they only sell pairs from part numbers I've researched over the years. Suggest you try watching eBay in case someone has an "open box"... Good luck.
The dealer wants about $250 installed. I can save about $100 if I buy from Sewell and have a bodyshop do it. But since I need to be at the dealer for service anyway soon, I decided to let them make a buck here and not have to become my own independent contractor. Someone on one of the threads said a dealer wanted $600...I would not do that, but to spend an extra $100 seems just on the right side of my limit of paying for convenience.
I see a few RX's around here with door moldings positioned at mid door, running horizontally. I suspect these are dealer "add ons" and not from the factory. What's the deal? I already have 1 ding (despite parking carefully) in our 6 week old RX. How much are these and must they be installed by the dealer? And how can I be sure they'll be installed correctly (level) etc? Or course even the moldings can get dinged, so I'm not totally sure they would be worth it. Does a ding on the molding look "less worse" than one on the door itself? Probably, but not much. Less chance of an indentation but still a big paint nick.
Check out spoiler and wing king in Detroit. google them:
i had them put on and i took them off. just didnt like the look.
Me, well, I bought OEM moldings while my RX was on order so I could install them myself along with mud flaps upon arrival; temporarily attached one to one side, and like you; didn't like the look, and put them all back in the box -- never installed, and sitting on a shelf to give away as a free-bee to whoever next owns my RX someday.
I'm glad the moldings were 3rd Gen options so folks can have what they think is best for them.
At least we have that option. I didn't care for the door molding on the 330. Spraying water on them would result in a cascade of dirt floating down. Not a problem with the 450h now. The only thing is I had to change my washing pattern slightly. The door is so huge without them, LOL! And I park a mile away to avoid door dings.
Not leaning forward in the foxhole on this one.
I mentioned bodyside molding and my wife shrugged.
We too park in the back forty but, our 2015 is a magnet even when multiple spaces are available.
No door dings in 13 months but the grim reaper is a coming I just know it.
I just ordered the following from Kerry Sewell Lexus in Dallas. Pricing with our Club Lexus Discount:
• Body side molding PT936-48110-14 ($71.25) Satin Cashmere
• Door edge guards PT296-48111-04 ($100) Satin Cashmere
• All Weather Cargo mat (Black) PT 90848-10102 ($80) Black
• Shipping to Florida $19
I prefer the look of naked doors but door dings drive me nuts. We traded in our CT200h and even though we park way back in lots it had one nasty door ding with paint chipped.
unfortunately it all bottoms down to other people being ignorant. they see a nice vehicle and cant help themselves i guess. misery just loves company....
