Hello All
I've been having rattling noise problem on my 2010 RX350 for months now. It comes from the passenger side corner of the sunroof. It sounds like metal hitting glass. I took it to the dealer twice already but the problem is that each time the noise stops. I even drove with a technician in the car to replicate the noise but each time no sound, nothing. Has anyone have the same problem? or know if there is a bulletin in this regard.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

If the sound goes away each time the tech rides with you, is it possible that the sound is actually coming from the passenger seat, and that when weight is on the seat, the rattle goes away? Just a thought...

my GS430 had the sunroof noise for years, dealer had various attempts at fixing it... but it always come back after roughly a week. I even had a brand new sunroof installed.
I think once you have it, it will never go away.
my friends RX350 has the same issue, with no luck at fixing it.

I have 2 issues with my sunroof;
Firstly, I also do have the metal noise as mentioned in the OP but mine was more evident when the roof was at "slanted" angle. Took it back to the dealer and they applied some grease and the noise seems to have gone away or at least fainted to a level that doesn't bother me anymore.
Secondly, I also have noise coming from the sunroof visor (don't know proper name). This time is more of a plastic tapping noise when travelling over bumpy roads. Also asked the dealer to check out and they must have applied some double sided tape or something because the noise comes back every now and then and i just push the visor upwards and the noise goes away so the tape must have come loose. So i have to take this back again for them to take another look. Not too happy with this problem.

I have heard a similar noise Salty. In my case it was coming from the black piece that runs the length of the sunroof in the front and raises when the sunroof is open. I heard it also when I would slam the door hard so finally I was feeling around while slamming the door and if you touch that piece it would stop. I put tape on the right side of it where there is a seam and it went away. Try this and let us know.

You will not receive a response from fast350 as they have not posted on this site since 2014. Maybe someone else will respond to the new thread you started.
These noises on an aging vehicle can be extremely difficult to diagnose and even harder to eliminate. You may want to contact an upholstery shop as many of them service sunroofs when replacing head liners. Or find a sunroof shop or body shop.
This video may help as all Toyota and Lexus sunroofs are about the same.

We know something is loose, but what?
Typically it is the slider which with time develops more play. Try fully closing the slider and or gently supporting it with hand. This can be fixed by strategically placing a fine velcro.
Next is the glass and track. Fully open the slider and manually try to shake move the glass. As pointed out any competent body shop should be able to fix that.
The last is the very unlikely loose wire/connector ... which can be traced to improper repair in the past [assuming repair was done]. There can be one in million miss where at build something was overlooked.
