Default NY/NJ best shop for brake replacement 2010 rx 350?

Latest state inspection reveals 25% brake pad life left on all 4 wheels. Local non-Lexus shop quoting me $800 for the job. DIY not an option. Any recommendations?

Any particular reason why DIY is not an option. A six pack, an hour and a friend is all it takes. Get your pads from www.rockauto.com

If really not an option, just go to Midas or Meineke or any of the large chain repair shops. It's one of the easiest jobs you can do on a vehicle. Can still buy your own pads and bring them in with you.

DIY not an option due to bad back. Haven't used those chain shops for a while since have had bad experiences with them in past. Do you know of a specific location that has done good honest work?

I'm in Ridgewood, Queens and have used the Midas shop near me on my GS for a seized caliper and have no complaints about the service or price.

Would suggest going to www.rockauto.com and buying the pads you want. That will reduce the chances of dishonest work as you are only paying for labor.

Then shop around and see what shops are charging near you. That will eliminate all surprises. If you're due for a tire rotation, not a bad time to get it done either. Shouldn't be any extra charge.

Is there a local Toyota dealership in your area with good ratings or that you might trust?

You might want to check the regional forums for recommendations. There should be a few for local places listed. Toyota dealer is also a good alternative.
