If you got the Lexus Extended Care Plan for your RX - have you ever had to use it and how much $$ it recovered?

Thanks

If the purpose of this question is to see whether or not it is worth spending the money for the service plan, you're probably not going to get a good sample size here in the 3rd gen forum as most vehicles will still be under warranty.

I would suggest posting this in the 2nd gen forum and see if people feel they have gotten good value from extended care plans.

But even then, it may not give you the results you want as any problems associated with the 2nd gen may not carry over to this generation.

In general, it's insurance on a vehicle that is rock solid so more likely than not, you wil not be using it. So in the end, you have to decide whether you feel good about spending the money and not having to have to use it because your vehicle is great.

Had the warranty on my 01 GS and never used it during it's 4 year span. GS is still running strong.

I have to agree with oohpapi44. Only a small percentage of 3RX owners are outside the basic warranty and even fewer have the extended care plan. I've had it on the previous two RXs and they paid for themselves. I received a refund on the RX330 for the unused time left before trading in. The 450h is now officially outside the basic warranty period by a month. So far so good.

Maybe this thread will help.

Either way you decide shop around.
Policy's vary a lot by years covered, what's covered and price.

Mine has passed the warranty coverage as well, I was debating on getting the extended warranty as well, but I did not buy it and so far so good.
