Default Bluetooth OBD-II reader

For everyone out there, I have found a fantastic tool to help troubleshoot any and all of your OBD-II codes. This little device is a bluetooth transmitter that plugs into your OBD port and you can leave it in there all the time. They can be purchased on Ebay for less that $10 dollars and is called a micro bluetooth OBD-II reader. It comes with a disk for your laptop, if you have a laptop with bluetooth. The best thing that I use is an android phone with a free app called "torque". You can use this app to graph the points from the sensors inputting to the ECU. You can graph while driving (as a passenger, not driver) and even see acceleration and performance. Yes, it will reset codes also.. As an old time mechanic, this is an invaluable tool at 10 times the price.. I have them in all my cars as a permanent install...Buy a couple and enjoy...

Thanks, clyde1952. Many I had seen in the past were a bit long in size and therefore risked being damaged by one's knees when entering and exiting the vehicle. Perhaps they are much smaller now, thus the "micro" in the name, and worth another look.

I have an BAFX ELM 327 for a couple yrs with the torque app. Make sure you read the reviews....there are many reports of "knockoff" units that do not cooperate with Torque app:

I got mine from amazon:
BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY : Amazon.com : Automotive BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY : Amazon.com : Automotive

It has paid for itself in diagnosing O2 sensor issues alone.

As stated by afpj, it is an ELM327 and is called a "mini", not a "micro"... sorry for the mistake... I bought the one without the built in switch, but notice they now have one with a switch on it...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/V1-5-ELM327-...-/351005594329

that's the exact one I have although they have smaller ones such as:

I'm using torque with it on my android phone however, I have yet to use it on my RX as it's always plugged in my IS300.
