Tailgate opens on its own
I was hoping someone here could direct me in the correct area. I have a 2010 RX350 that the
power tailgate will open by itself. This happens when sitting and the car off and no keys in it.
I had heard that an aftermarket auto start ( which I have) can make this happen sometimes..
is that true.
I hope someone can help me with this before I spend lots of time and money at the "local"
dealer. ( you know hour drive oneway )

No, I don't play soccer!
Welcome to CL, COCOA3891. I moved your thread over to the 3RX forum since you have a 2010. This topic has been discussed a few times. The culprit is usually a key fob being accidentally pushed. Take a look at this thread. You can prevent the tailgate from opening by going into the glove box and pressing the button on the left side. That will disable it. And if you feel it's the aftermarket remote start, definitely get it checked out. It's never happened to me with OE remote start. I don't recall anyone else mentioning it either. I'll leave this thread open just in case someone has.

Lead Lap
One fob being replaced this week by local dealer under warranty. Fob on the key hook at 2:30 AM & panic alarm goes off. This just after going off at 10:00 PM. Fob was eating batteries at an alarming rate.
Check the "in service" date on the car & see if the warranty might help. I questioned the dealer a couple months back about the batteries. The initial contact/complaint date fell within the warranty period.
