This is what fog lights are for. They are low to the ground as there normally is a gap between the road surface and the fog itself for these lights to be effective. Also, they should be yellow(ish) in color. The wavelength of the yellow light helps in providing the necessary lighting without being reflected/refracted down the road as the light spreads out.
Never learnt that here in Canada but I can tell you that the fog lights didn't help much either that why I had to try other resources. If I had my Corolla or B7 with me it would of done a much better job, I find the RX fog's to be very dim.

Thank you!
Im puzzled why not a lot of driver's know this. seriously!
It's like a "secret" handshake or something.

Next one is, when you turn ON The wipers, the headlights should be ON as well.
I remember it being a law in CT. Im not sure about other states.

And here's my favorite " secret" about 4WD and AWD.
The system doesn't help to STOP..., strong emphasis on the STopping the vehicle.
I feel sorry for those who drives insanely fast on snow ( with summer/all season tires) only to be proven otherwise, on a ditch somewhere.

In Georgia there are, or at least used to be, signs for you to "Burn Headlights When Raining." Don't care what they say, I am not going light fire to my RX.

I has been the law in California for the last several years that headlights should be on when it is raining. I would guess more folks obey the headlight law than not talking on a cell and driving but not by much.

Here in Canada lights or at least DRL have to be on all the time, I don't know how it works in the States even in clear weather.
