Hello CL,
I bought my first Lexus last Oct (2011 CPO GS 350) and I love it. Actually, it’s my wife’s car. It was the first time I walked away from a car purchase feeling good about the experience.
So now I’m looking for a Lexus for me. My dealership has given me an RX as a borrower a couple times now. I’m a taller driver, 6’3”, and have always felt tight in one. Because of this I’ve overlooked the RX as a possibility. This was unfortunate because I’ve always considered the RX an excellent combination of luxury, reliability, capability and value.
Recently I learned that some models, very few actually, are equipped with the Power cushion seat extenders. I sat in new one at the dealership about 2 weeks ago and even though it wasn’t a huge impact, it did seem just enough to tip the scales and be comfortable enough for my daily driver.
So now I’m looking for a low miles 2011-13 RX 350 with the seat extenders. The Lexus 2014 RX website includes the seat extenders in the Luxury Package, so does this carry over to the 2011, 12 and 13’s as well?
I’ve searched all over, AutoTrader, Cars.com, USAA, CarMax, Lexus Pre-Owned and SwapLease. There are postings that include the Luxury Package but I can’t find one that lists the feature or shows a clear picture of the side of the seat.
So what’s the smoking gun? What specifically should I be looking for to find an RX 350 with the seat extenders? Do all the RX’s with seat extenders have the extra control switch as in Audriuss’ 2009 RX picture below?
Thanks for your help.

My 2011 has the luxury package which includes the power cushion extender. It is indeed a rare option because most models only have the premium package and comfort packages.
While the options inside the luxury package have changed from 2011 to 2014, I can tell you the power cushion extender was part of the lux package in older models too
