Default Cancelling "Auto Away" Driver's Seat

How can I cancel the "auto away" driver's seat...so that it stays put when entering and exiting the vehicle?

Yes, it is something you can change yourself through the navigations system:

18. Driver’s Seat Easy Exit
When the vehicle is placed in park, the ignition turned off, the driver seat can be set to the
following:
□ Remain in the current position, as set by the driver. = Off
□ Automatically move away from the steering wheel partially. = Partial
□ Automatically move away from the steering wheel fully. (Standard) = Full

Sounds like someone needs to read the manual. Don't worry, I'll give you a break this time. Your test is Friday BTW, a few of the settings require the RX to be on and don't forget to hit save.

Yeah yeah yeah. The manual is daunting. This seat thing I just wanted cancelled NOW! (so thanks again) But I am working through playing with the stuff and reading the manual etc. If you think I'm asking for a nanny here, wait till you see my OTHER new post!

Default Manuals

If you download the manual from the Lexus Drivers web page. You can use the search function on the PDF files.

Much easier than reading the whole book.

Shhh! You're not supposed to tell him that. He has to spend night and day reading every page of the manual until he's finished

The 2010 manual has many inaccuracies because Lexus made changes in the car.

What! You mean we don't really have to memorize the manual so we can pass the test the SA will give us before our first service?

Based on our first service YOU will know more about the RX than the SA will.

Default automatic seat/steering adj delete

How do you cancel the "power easy access system"???. We have a 2013 RX350. When we shut off the vehicle, the seat moves to the rear, and the steering wheel moves up. So, when we enter the car, the seat is waaaay back until we press the brake and start the car. My wife wants the seat to remain where it was before she exited the vehicle last time it was used. How do your turn off the automatic seat movement????

Yes, I know we can just push the start button, but that is not what she wants.....she wants to delete the automatic seat movement for exiting.

Go through menu
-Vehicle customization
-Other vehicle settings
-Turn off. Or partial(moves seat back a little)

I just did this tonight. Had to turn off b/c of newly installed child seat behind driver, and there wasn't enough room for seat to slide back...

Nate, et al,

I very much appreciate the serious effort you have made. Unfortunately, when I access the "setup" button, it brings up a somewhat different screen. Yes, there is a "vehicle" tab, but it is shaded, not lighted, and cannot be accessed. When I try to access it with the control, it automatically skips over that option.

Apparently, we do not have the option required to access this screen, and adjust the "Power Easy Access Option".

Now, when we exit the vehicle, the seat is not sliding back nearly as far as it was. I am assuming that the seat slide distance is based upon the memory positions chosen for the driver. In other words, neither my wife nor I are tall, so our saved seat settings are fairly far forward, meaning we do not need to slide way back to exit easily. Would it be correct that the "Power Easy Access Option" has relearned how far back to slide based upon our chosen settings? Sounds so to me.

I think we are good to go with no further adjustments (which appear can't be made, anyway).

Jim
