Newbie Questions
Hello Fellow 3rd Gen RX owners,
I am a long time Lexus owner...I think we've had 10is Lexus cars since my first LS400 in late 1989. Anyway, we just migrated the wifemobile from a 2006 RX330 (great car) to a 2014 RX350. A few questions, comments.
1. I do feel a bit chagrined that it turns out our car, stickering at $50,255 does NOT have a heated steering wheel. Somewhere along the line (we looked a many cars even though we ended up "coming home" to Lexus) I thought this car had it but it does not. It's my own fault and I'll live with the oversight, but I do feel badly about it. Truthfully, however, the lease deal was so good I probably would have gotten this same car anyway even had I known.
2. Is there an easier way to set up the radio for my wife? We just want 6 simple stations or so? The current set up has six sets of six stations. And when she uses the steering wheel control to bump up or down, it goes into the next or last set of six if you go past 1 or 6. Confusing for her. Also, what about the HD stations with "extra hidden stations" in them. Can I make this GO AWAY?
3. I figured out how to prevent the doors from unlocking when putting in park. Good. I don't like the idea of my wife parking somewhere at night (or any time) and all of the sudden the doors become unlocked. This way she can exit the car when she's ready and only the driver's door unlocks as it opens. Any other thing about this that I might be missing?
4. One of the cars we looked at (I think it was an Acura) had a thingie where you could control how high the rear hatch opens. And set it to only open to a certain point to avoid potential automatic garage door accidents. (Had 2 but those were both years ago on a Ford Explorer). Does this vehicle do that? I think not but just being sure.
5. The owner's manual is THICK. I am thinking of putting it in the rear near the spare tire, under the floor of the cargo area. With a big laminated envelope size typed note, for the glovebox, stating that it's in the rear. (Even I'm likely to forget in a few years). Anyone else do this?
Any other nuances or suggestions are appreciated.

#2: In addition to any input from the folks here at CL, this would be a good item for you to get a chance to meet and greet with the Lexus Technology Specialist at your local dealership. They are there for such purposes and their advice is free of charge.
#4: Nope. There was a note that showed the new NX would have this feature and perhaps it will be available in the next gen RX.
#5: Have a look here for the hidden storage section of the center console where you can store a good part of the manuals:

Thanks for that reply. It was helpful. I await more input on simplifying the radio.

Exactly. And my vehicle came with the "comfort package" as well as with all weather winter car mats. From the factory. You'd think that a heated steering wheel would be automatic with that stuff.
