I was a bit off on the MSRP - it actually comes in at $50,400. Plus they are throwing in all weather mats, two scheduled services, and some other little goodies. Pictures will come tonight, as we're picking it up in about 45 minutes. I'm trying to figure out a way to get my wife to dealership without tipping her off.

JSGuillet - Very nice job. She looks happy. How long did it take to get the dealer down to 44K? Ddi you conduct all of the negotiations via the internet? I would love to snag a fully loaded Lexus at this price, mainly because I only have 45K to spend. LOL.
All help is appreciated.
Also, how did you get them to throw in the service package? Tell all!!

We went to Serramonte Lexus to test drive one because they're closer. Su said she could do better than Costco's program and she did. $2,000 below dealer invoice. From the notes of that meeting:
Total MSRP: $50,134
Invoice Cost: $47,396
Discount: -$2,000
-----------------------------
Total + T&L: $45,379
In the end, she said the absolute best she could do was $45,200. They didn't have the car in stock, but had one with everything we wanted scheduled for delivery on 12/22/2014. We walked out saying we'd think about it.
We came back to the showroom to take a tour of the Lexus Enform system and electronics. Su was busy with another customer, so we worked with another salesman, Charles. Tried to get him a little lower, but no budging. We left again saying we'd think about it.
The next night I called Su and asked how it works to reserve the incoming RX. She just needed a credit card for a $500 "good faith" deposit, but never ran the card. She offered up the all weather floor mats at that time. Then I told her I have a $500 off your next new car purchase from Serramonte Lexus coupon. I've been hanging onto that since I bought my first ES300 in 2000.
Now the price is down to $44,700, which I felt was a pretty good price. All I had to do was wait and try not to spill the beans to my wife.
So yesterday (12/22) comes and... no car. She says it should be here the next day, or Christmas Eve on the latest. But this morning she called to say that the car was delayed due to the holidays and will not arrive till after Christmas. There is no joy in Mudville. I expressed my great disappointment to Su, who said she would check nearby inventory. She called back to say she found one at a nearby dealer (Lexus of Stevens Creek, it turned out). It put a total of 53 miles on the odometer, so she threw in the first two services (3,000 and 10,000 mile). This car had roof rack crossbars on it (I thought they were on the one I ordered, but no) which added $250 to the cost. Couldn't get her to throw them in since I didn't have to pay for the transfer.
So here's the best part (for you): That car is STILL coming in before the end of the year and you know how much I paid for it. Go an' get it! Tell Su Jeff sent you.

JSGuillet - Your'e awesome! Thanks for sharing. I plan to purchase on Jan. 15th so I think I will start the haggling after the holidays. I am praying they will be motivated to discount deeply with the arrival of the 2016's hot on their heels.
Awesome job.

Several dealerships in my area have 2014's on the lot! Is there much difference between the 2014's and the 2015's? Has anyone else purchased a 2014 recently??
Thankx

jsguillet- Great job on being patient while doing all the research on pricing, and for the colors and options you wanted. Also, keeping it a surprise for your super happy wife! The photos you posted look awesome.
Great job on also using the $500 coupon you saved from buying your ES300 way, way back in 2000. We had the same coupon, as we also bought a new 2000 ES300 (Platinum Edition) from Lexus of Serramonte back in 2000. Tossed the coupon away though. Should have kept it in case we were to buy our 2016 from them. Also at the time got coupons for free weekend loaner car without having to have service, first ding repair free, dealer gift shop coupon etc. Don't think dealers give extras anymore once the negotiations are done, except the free car washes along with the nice coffee lounges.
