Is it a warranty repair?
Last weekend I started to detail the interior after the winter - noted a crack in the leather on the outside of the driver's bottom cushion (or may be it is a "fake" leather on the sides?)
Called the dealer and was told that a "specialist has to look at the damage to determine if it is a warranty repair." The "specialist" does not work on Saturdays, and when I offered to leave the RX at night for them to look at it the next morning, I was told I cannot get a loaner "because it may not be a warranty repair". &^$#%^*??
I never had any issues with the leather seats before.
I e-mailed the pics of the damage to a service adviser today.
Anyone had leather damage like that?
Thanks

wouldnt surprise me if that was considered wear and tear..from my past experience the only part of the leather that was covered under warranty were the seams..but it couldnt hurt to take it in and see
good luck! and keep us updated

Am going to venture a guess that you will be out of luck on this one. No way to tell if that was or was not something caused by an object striking or rubbing up against the seat causing the damage possibly when entering or exiting the vehicle. Does not appear to be a defect in the leather. Rather, it looks more like an abuse item.

If they don't cover it, I think you can easily do a spot repair on the location with a leather/vinyl repair kit. It almost looks like it was scraping on the trim piece an inch or so under the damage ... I don't know if that is possible.

^^^Agree. Don't sweat it if Lexus does not warranty this. I've used this $12 kit in the past and works really great, you can hardly tell it was repaired. Good luck.

No, I don't play soccer!
Unfortunately the tear does look like wear and won't be covered under warranty. I'm wondering if the cause might be the door pocket being left open and rubbing the side of the seat Can't say I've seen anything like that before. Good luck getting it fixed.

I am still waiting for the dealer to call me back.
Never had same problem with any other make, not even in a Honda Pilot. LR, Volvo, Audi all seem to have better leather then my Lexus.
