Default Used Price

Hi, I'm looking into getting a CPO RX. Is there a guide / estimate on what to pay? Kind of like on a new vehicle, anything under MSRP (out the door price) is good (the lower the better). I usually buy new very little experience buying used.

Also, is there a big difference between the 2011 vs. 2012 models? Details on differences?

Thanks.

We bought an '11 CPO RX. Our salesperson furnished us with a Car Fax that showed us what our vehicle, with our options was worth. Car was stickered at $38,395. Car Fax said it was worth $35,670, retail. We paid $35,500. I'm not a very good negotiator, and my wife was drooling over the thought of having this car!
I read that if you can get a car OTD at sticker price, that's good. It's an easy rule of thumb.
You can get Kelly Blue Book values online to take to the dealer for a bargaining chip.
I'm not sure of the differences between '11 and '12. Probably not much.
Hope this helps.

t2014rx, welcome to CL. We don't have a guide on used RXs per se. Usually if you post details about the one you're looking at, we can give you an idea on price. There's too many variables to take into consideration. There is a gas octane difference between '11 and '12. Early 3rd gens required premium but it was changed to regular beginning with '12 MY. I can't think of anything else. Maybe others can chime in.

Just bought a 2011 RX350 with 9K miles. Dealer wanted $33K, I got it OTD for that. But it took awhile. Sales tax here is 8.5% and they gave me top dollar for my used car. I was as happy as a guy can be after paying $24K for something that will be worth 0 in 10 years. RX350 is a nice car!

Something that might set you in the right frame of mind when you step into that showroom. I've bookmarked it from a thread here on CL, which I cannot find now, but I'm sure the member who posted it, wouldn't mind if I pass it on.

I had the same one in mind regarding the octane requirements. Check the inside of the fuel to be of that particular CPO if you want to double-check.

Another minor difference between '11 and '12 is color availability. Smokey Granite Mica was available until '11 and replaced by Nebula Gray Pearl '12. SGM is a darker gray than NGP.

Thanks for the welcome and all the info. I'm leaning towards the 2012 just on the gas requirements alone. Gas here averages $4+/gallon (87 octane). Color scheme isn't too big of a deal since I'm going the used route, but I do prefer darker color combinations. The 2014 is a dream ride.

I'm honestly really looking for a low mileage with AWD. Preferably with in-dash back up camera vs. rear view mirror. Navigation isn't a factor because my phone is a great substitute.

I had an offer for a 2012 for $34.5K (+ taxes/fees) with 30k miles, navigation/back up camera, leather perforated heated/cooled seats, and i can't remember what else exactly. Unfortunately it was FWD.

I'll keep you all updated on what happens. Trying to get it while they have the financing deal going on right now.

I just paid $28,500 for a 2011 with 36k on the odometer, it was all ready certified by a Lexus dealer. Satin cashmere, a FL car I got on ebay. Great shape, it's my fourth RX.

I'd like to get your thoughts on a price for this vehicle. I'm confused because the title doesn't say CPO and it didn't come up in a CPO search, but the details of the add says it's CPO. If this truely is a CPO vehicle, what are your thoughts?

Thanks.
