My answer doesn't change. The service department at the dealership tops off the windshield washer fluid reservoir (tank) when I come in for any service. I have no clue what they use. I use some name brand (Prestone, Rain-X, etc) gimmicky subzero fluid in the coldest part of winter.
To routinely clean my glass I use Meguiar's or Stoners.
Walk into WalMart or any automotive store and there are many generic and name brand products available. I believe even Windex has fluid in gallons.
On the internet you can find "home brewed" washer fluid recipes. Some companies sell concentrates to make your own. I think the rage these days is the washer fluid advertised to assist in bug removal. Are there any bugs in CA (California or Canada??).

You're right, David. Prestone makes a windshield washer fluid to help with bug removal . It's what I use though I don't necessarily have to. Most stores carry it. The cheap stuff is well, cheap.

And Yes, there are bugs here in CA as well.
I use a Walmart generic brand ( color is green) that helps with the bugs on the windshield.
