Advise on extended warrantee for 2013 Rx350
Hi everyone. I am new and this is my first post ! Last week finally I purchased a 2013 RX350( my first Lexus !!! ) from a dealer. This vehicle has 26,300 miles on it and still has 23 months of factory warrantee on it. I purchased this from the dealer without CPO (saved $1200 from the CPO price). Now I need your advise on how and when I should extend the factory warrantee. Any reliable places from where I can get genuine Lexus warrantee ? Thank you in advance and I love this forum and the people.

Congratulations on your first Lexus. The RX350 is a great vehicle. I love mine. You can wait to get an extended warranty until just before your factory warranty expires. So you have ample time to consider this. There used to be a great source for discounted Lexus extended warranties. But Toyota has now disallowed selling warranties across state lines to protect their dealer network. The result is that you can only buy an extended warranty from a dealer in your state. a month or two before your factory warranty expires, contact several dealers in your state and get competitive prices.

Thanks to MDames2 and JT4 for your input and I will do reserach on best prices for an extended warantee to get one just before my current one expires.

Thanks to corradoMR2 for the link and this is definitely in line with what everyone is saying about the reliability of RX350s. I am glad I got RX350.

$1200 for the CPO is the best deal you will ever see on this RX. Guess why they can offer it so cheaply? If you guessed its because it is so reliable they know they will make money with that $1200, you guessed right. Any extended warranty you buy in the future on this car will be a lot more profitable for the folks selling it and more costly and worth less to you, because they are not zero deductible Lexus factory warranties like the original or CPO warranties. Just be glad you bought a very reliable car and save your extra bucks in your own account (a Roth IRA is perfect for this kind of rainy day savings if you and your wife qualify). Do this with everything you buy and over your lifetime theses kinds of savings can really add up.
