Can I add a package after purchasing the vehicle from the dealer?
Hey guys,
Recently, I purchased a new 2015 Lexus RX 350 F-Sport in Canada. I love the car however I'm disappointed that it's missing a few features that it could have came with had I bought the car in the United States.
The package that I'm interested in is the PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM* WITH DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL* that's offered in the U.S. but not in Canada.
I live quite close to the border and I was hoping if it would be possible to drop by a dealership in the U.S. and get the system installed for however much it cost.
Would this be possible? I've tried to reach out to a few dealers though I have never gotten a definite answer from any of them. They either tell me they'll call me back or they simply don't know.
Cheers

These were something we were very interested in when we purchased our 2014 RX but were only available special order and none of the 3 dealers we visited had an RX with the features installed. There was no discussion or offer of an after delivery installation.

GeorgeNico,
I have PCS (ordered my car), and I could have lived without it. It doesn't make the car fully stop. The dynamic cruise control works ok, but it can be a pain and an annoyance. Honestly, I don't think it was worth the price.

I think you would find the cost to install after the fact very prohibitive. It would be cheaper to trade your car in on one that already has it. The parts are generally much more expensive that the factory package.

Those are not dealer-installed options, so no.
You could hack it by buying parts needed to make it work and installing them. A flash may be required to activate these features. It's a risky and expensive proposition, especially if nobody has done it yet.

I just bought a 2015 RX F sport and asked about the PCS, my dealer also said it wasn't worth the money and they never ordered on their RX models.......so I guess I don't miss it!!
