Satellite Radio Reception
Is anyone having an issue with XM Radio reception? My 2013 RX 350 loses signal with even minor obstructions. This is my second RX with satellite radio and 5th car and this model is terrible. I have driven behind friends with 2015 and 2010 models comparing when signals are lost and mine is significantly worse. It is also much worse than my other car and ones I have owned. The dealer and Lexus have been no help so I am wondering if there are others.

Satellite radio just due to where the signal comes from, and that it has to be line of sight means you'll experience what we all do. Occasional to frequent loss of signal depending on obstructions of anything even including wet tree leaves. Any obstruction can and likely will affect your signal. The shark fin antenna on the top rear of the RX is about as good as you're going to get. My Corvette has no antenna's showing at all. The satellite antenna is in the drivers fender and the FM antenna's are in the rear bumper valence. Even tho it's fiberglass and carbon the signal is received much better from the shark fin on the RX .
Unless you've got a pinched antenna wire you're going to have to accept what you have.

My 2013 is so much worse than my '07 RX, Audi, Mercedes and Pathfinder which is the basis of my complaint. Driving the same routes at the same time provides a clear comparison and this one is just terrible. I have even driven right ahead of friends with other RX's to check reception...mine operates like it is missing an antenna. Love the Stingray!!

Make sure nothing is obstructing the antenna. When I took delivery of my '13 RX, they left some plastic on it. Removing it helped the signal, which used to be lost under very single bridge.. I really don't care for XM, so no big deal. I now have promotional period for the XM in my STi and the signal isn't best either. I have no plans to pay for it, so again, no loss.
IMHO, with a data plan on the cell phone, paying for XM seems to be of little benefit to me.
