Again, in most southern states, AWD is overkill and a waste of money (unless yo go off-road, which you should be getting 4WD).
If you live up north or face extreme weather (ice / snow) it may be important (after a set of good snow tires).
Here's a 6 page thread on AWD vs FWD: http://www.city-data.com/forum/autom...ont-wheel.html
Bottom line / consensus is AWD for southern states would be pretty much overkill.

Hi Jason, I see you're new here and showing you have an ES300 if I'm correct. Not really sure how much RX350 experience you have but it's pretty easy to smoke the tires. On damp pavement even easier. Having owned multiple Lexus and RX models I can testify to that. I've never done it on purpose (just a waste of money and resources) but it's not hard if you goose it too much and more so if you're turning at the same time. If you'd like to discuss it privately perhaps you could PM me as on the public forums we won't challenge other members testimonies. Just sayin ...
Also what might not be financially wise for you could be just the ticket for someone else. That's why Lexus offers many configurations in all markets.

I find that hard to believe. I drive a 2013 RX 350 FWD regularly... it is incredibly hard to spin a FWD drive heavy SUV.
What would benefit you more would be ESC which would reduce wheel spin with loss of traction.
AWD would not the solution to rainy days in FL... and a waste of money to boot. The wrong solution to the problem.
