i do every 5,000 miles. i dont care what they claim. remember, they also call the trans fluid a lifetime fluid.. now in all honesty, im sure it would be fine for 10,000 miles. i simply choose not to go that route.

according to the manual 0w20 (preferred) recommended changes are 10k miles . 5w20 is 5k miles. Double check the grade that they used.
Best is to get an oil analysis on your car with your preferred oil to see how many miles you can really get out of it.

When I requested a 5k oil change, that I would gladly pay for on my CT200h at the Lexus dealer, the service rep talked me out of it saying it was not necessary and was a waste of money.

The stickers are good for 5,000 miles, the oil is good for 10,000 miles. This has been a joke.

Every 10,000 miles or once a year per the owner's manual you should have received with the vehicle. Many folks change it more often, some at 5,000, others at 7,500. It requires 0w-20 synthetic oil.

I change my oil every 5k miles due to my RX sitting in stop-and-go traffic which means my RX falls under the severe service maintenance schedule which recommends 5k mile oil changes.
The normal maintenance schedule is 10k miles.
I only can find the severe maintenance schedule listed in the Lexus service manual.

I get my routine maintenance done at Toyota because the service people are more personable. Lexus service people seem indifferent. My opinion. Roseville, CA.

Synthetic oil change at my local Toyota dealer for $58. My last service there (including other stuff) cost only 40% of (i.e 60% less than) the official Lexus estimate. This has consistently been
the case, I go there once a year for the required service, and they do it well....instead of saying
I want the 30k service or whatever Lexus calls it, I just give them the a la carte list of what
I need, and I get the work done nicely for 40% of the Lexus cost.

Thanks to the folks on this board for suggesting the dealer skip the obvious "checks" and just do the work that's required.
