USB on 2014 Lexus 350RX

USB on 2014 Lexus 350RX
Why does the USB on the 2014 Lexus RX350 NOT recognize or play MP4? I am using a flash memory stick. My 2012 Prius DOES recognize MP4 so I would think the 2014 Lexus would be up to date. Is there an update?
