HID Headlamps
My 2013 RX 350 that I just bought has the Comfort Package which includes the HID headlamps however when I look at the low beams, they have a yellowish tint to them. I was under the assumption that HID lights have somewhat of a bluish tint to them. Am I mistaken?

Do you have heated & ventilated front seats and rain sensing wipers? These too are part of the comfort package.
You're correct about the HIDs having a blueish tint to them.
At night the difference is pretty apparent between the two...can you compare it to another vehicle side by side?

X2, best headlights I've ever driven with at night. Maybe earlier versions weren't quite up to par but this generation in the 3rd Gen RX series and my C7 Vette are as good as you can legally get as OEM IMHO.

you can have them. my eyes prefer the halogens. they may have improved them in the third generation, but my 01 and 05`s were not that great. i could always see better with my wife`s c300 halogen lights at night. to each they`re own i know you people love your hid`s i get it.

So I can agree with you about them not being that great in that generation. They also were not projectors which I can't imagine having helped.
IMO the difference between my '01 and my '10 HID's is major. I can see further and wider down the unlit roads I take at night and I like the AFS function as well.
The '01 almost reminded me of those $20 bulbs you can get at Walmart for the look of HID.

My 2004 RX had the HIDs and they were quite bluish. My 2013 also has them and they are noticeably whiter than the ones on the 04. I agree with the posts from people that say they wouldn't buy a car without them. In my humble opinion the difference is huge.
This week I was getting the clear mask on our ES and I has a service loaner. Ironically, they put me in an RX 350 the same Nebula Gray as ours. It felt a little weird going out in the garage and seeing two identical RXs. Anyway, my wife and I left together for work the next morning, so we started the cars at the same time. They both went through the "auto leveling" process, but the difference in lighting was remarkable. The front of the garage told it all. The loaner had standard halogen projector lights (and yes, they both go through the auto leveling) and it didn't look half as bright as our RX. Furthermore, the HIDs were very white, while the standard halogen projector lights on the loaner looked yellowish in comparison. (On a white wall)
I wanted the HIDs on our ES as well and didn't see them on the sticker. Therefore, I asked the sales rep and he told me it had them. We now know it does not so the moral of that story is if a feature is important to you, you better see it in writing before you buy. Live and learn. It is still a terrific car so no regrets.

I agree that the 2015 RX lamps are top notch.

Didn't the '13s come with LED fog lamps? I think even if both lows and fogs are halogen, they would still be a slightly different tint because one is in a reflector housing and the other behind a projector.

I don't think it's appropriate to compare, in this case, HID headlamps from 10 years ago (and more) to the 2015 headlamps. Sort of like comparing a 'state of the art' computer of 2005 to a PC today; both serve the same functions, but the newer one is soooo much better. Kind of like night and day
