Default Making a Faster RX350 ?

I own a 2012 Rav4 V6 , soooo fun to drive .
We want a Rx with the same kinda fun/power .

Is this achievable in a 2013/2014 Rx via modification of some sort ????

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Club Lexus.

You realize a RX is a much bigger vehicle to begin with, right? A RAV4 is something like 3400+ lbs, vs a RX350 that is 4178+. RX is also about 8" longer... Base HP of a RX350 begins at 245HP (RX450h AWD is more) vs a RAV4 that is about 176. 0-60MPH of a RX350 is 7.7 sec; RX450h AWD is about 7.4, and from what I've read I'd guess your RAV4 is maybe a second better given it's much smaller mass... Physics is gonna play a big part here, e.g. my little MBZ SLK250 may have only a 4-cyl turbo with 201 HP, but at only 3300 lbs, lower profile and basic design, it's 0-60 competes with your RAV4 and for me is a much more fun car to drive (that's why I own it) compared to my RX450h that sits next to it in my garage.

I'll let others chime in about physical RX mods, but given physics, I don't see how an RX could be tweaked sufficiently without major changes and certainly throwing away the mfgr warranty a 2013/14 would still have. My personal opinion is you should go drive all three models of RX and see if they even begin to achieve the sort of "fun/power" you are looking for. I suspect not, if that is your first priority, although RX has many other attributes many owners find valuable.

pay to play to increase your power/weight ratio...supercharge or turbo. be prepared for supporting modifications for fueling, engine management and internals.

The V6 RAV4 had 269 horsepower, and as Bert noted, weighed considerably less than the RX. The RX350 has 270 hp and the RX450h has 295, so not enough to make up for the weight difference. I don't think there's much you can do to change those numbers.

Believe me , thought of them , the Bimmer would make me want to drive faster resulting in another speeding ticket .
They are a lot more money , and a used bimmer has probably had the ***** run out of it by the previous owner , maybe , .

Yeah , last year
Will do so again in Scotsdale Az this weekend

Toyota did things to the RAV4 V6 to make it faster/fun , wish they'd do the same to the RX

Try out RX450h. Instant Electric Torque, FTW!

If you need a reasonably-priced crossover, with better handling, take a look at the Subaru Outback 3.7R. Worlds-better AWD system with RWD bias. Come snow and rain, and it'll be untouchable by most crossovers.

Speed and handling are not what the RX350 is all about. Although, the F-Sport makes an attempt at it. It is all about quiet, elegant comfort that isolates you from the road while safely carrying your family and stuff around. Plus legendary Lexus/Toyota reliability.

There are no aftermarket go fast and handle better parts for the RX350. A similar variation of the 3.5 V6 is used in a few other Lexus F-Sport models, but I think they are massaged for more power in ways that you could not do yourself by bolting on something.

If you want a sports car SUV - there are plenty around now by the Germans, or the Subaru mentioned above. I even read a nice review of the redesigned Ford Edge.
Or the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT http://www.jeep.com/en/grand-cheroke...egory=standard
or the 2017 Hellcat version with 700 horsepower...http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ng-for-feature
The Jeeps depreciate so fast you could probably find a 2 year old off lease for a good price. Then you can save up to fix it.

Adding an intake and custom dual exhaust may net you a little over 10whp and a nice tone
