Lexus Champion
I have no experience with them, but would be concerned about the fact that they are touchscreens. That's a mighty long reach to where they mount.

I wouldn't waste any money on a built in NAV unit. I have the NAV option on my 450h, but use Google Maps/Nav on my Samsung Note 4 phone for most of my navigation. I just don't trust built in units because the data becomes outdated. These built-in units are low resolution ... my phone has something like 6x the resolution. When Lexus or 3rd parties offer low cost frequent updates ... they might become competitive again. I may be more critical than the average driver because I drive in San Francisco and NAV errors can be really punishing (waste an hour or two in traffic) and dangerous. There are also really critical construction changes in my area like bridge approach routing changes.

UCSB, same here I've used Nexus7 2013 with WaZe app slap over Lexus navigation screen for more accurate maps, live traffic routing, LEO's warnings, red light cameras,POI's and its free, perferct for bayarea commuters and never look back.

A nice big Garmin Nuvi with free software and traffic combined with a convenient pro-clip mount.
I've always wondered--what happens to your phone-based system when you're in an area with no cell phone service? (Think northern Canada.)

OP, the answer would be NO.
It is an integration nightmare, especially for those stuck with the OEM navigation, which also happens to control certain climate control functions.
IMHO, car manufacturers do this on purpose to get their customers pony-up for sub-par overpriced navigation units. Probably makes it easier to persuade them to upgrade to a new vehicle down the line.
