Oil Filter Wrench RX450H & filter
Does anyone know where I can get an oil filter wrench for a 2012 RX450H? Is it the standard 64mm Toyota wrench?
Also, what brands of filter do you use? Appreciate any suggestions. I had the dealer do the first few changes, but wanted to do it myself going forward.
Thanks!
Joe

It is probably the standard 64.5 mm - 14 flute Toyota wrench although I have the Assenmacher version from Amazon. I have used the same wrench on 5 different Lexus models since 2005, so it is safe to assume that all of them with the canister oil filter are the same. I have used the Toyota insert and, I think the Mobil 1 and K&N inserts from Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. I have bought drain plug gaskets on eBay.
I prefer the Toyota 0w20 synthetic oil as it is made by ExxonMobil and is basically Mobil 1 on steroids to meet Toyota specifications. However, any of the synthetic 0w20 oils from Mobil, Pennzoil or Valvoline are excellent. I usually buy everything from the local Toyota dealer as it is much cheaper than the Lexus dealer for the same parts.

Hey - thanks for the information!
I saw the Assenmacher on Amazon, and almost bought it, but hesitated since the RX450H was not on the list. Thanks for confirming it works.
Do any of the filters come with the "spigot" for draining the oil from the filter before removing it?

That wrench apparently fits all the Toyota/Lexus V6 engines. Some of the 4 cylinders either have a traditional can filter, like my HS250h, or may take a different wrench. Actually I recall that wrench also fits the can filter on my HS250h.
All of the after market oil filters I bought included the spigot and the 2 gaskets. You can open the boxes to confirm in the store! Some folks attach a hose to the spigot to aim the oil into a drain pan.
