What tire spec do you use for winter tires? 17" sufficient for 2015 RX350?

I plan on using my winter tire package from my 2005 RX330, 17" tires

17" rims may not clear the calipers. 18" is the safer bet.
I run 255-55R18 Michelin XIce2 on 8" rims with 35mm [stock] offset.
