Hello! Newbie here and I'm looking to buy a used 2013-2015 RX350. I'm curious for those who have navigation, is it worth the extra cost? Do you find it useful?
I currently have it in my Mazda and it's ok, not great and I find I still use my phone with Google maps quite a bit more.
Any input you have will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Katy

Welcome to CL Katy Whether to get nav or not is a well discussed topic in this forum. You can do a search and find many threads on it already. I'd suggest you start with this one since it critiques the system. I'd also suggest going to a dealer and sitting down with a Lexus Technology Specialist to go through the features. Good luck.

There are so many other options to consider when buying a car. Personally, I would not pass up a good deal on a vehicle I wanted just because it did not have a Nav system. Make a list of options you want in your car and decide what options are important to you. It also seems like you answered your own question when you said "I still use my phone with Google maps quite a bit more." Happy hunting!

With the Navigation option you also get the upgraded audio system which has more power and speakers. Plus it is easier to access and adjust many vehicle comfort features thru the Nav screen. Often there are other options that only appear with Nav, but I do not recall them, someone else may know.

For me it's a no brainier. I need back up camera. As far as navigation Google Map is the king.

Personally I went with the Touring Package on my 2013.
I like having the bigger back up camera screen. In addition I do like the wallet key card that comes with this package, of course you can buy one separately too. The added speakers are nice, and the 19' alloy looks better than the 18'. Up to you, depends on if you think the items are worth the extra cost.
Your smart phone will definitely have access to the most updated map information. Of course via the Nav system it's more convenient. Screen's big, bright and protected from sunlight. I like it.

The 2010 I bought had it as did my previous Lexus. The only drawback with Gen 6 is the cost to update maps...about $199 a year. My maps have never been updated and are still at 2009 data. Having them updated this week to 2015 version.
With my 2008 Lexus 400h I could buy the DVD (cheap) and install myself, not so with 2010 RX350.

I have the Nav system in my 2015 RX350 and like it very much. I've used a Tom Tom stand alone unit in the past and I find the Lexus nav unit easier to operate and so far it's been reliable in routing me where I need to go. With the mouse-like controller on the center console, it's much easier to operate than a touch screen system.

Thanks for your replies everyone! Today I bought a 2013 RX350 CPO that does have nav and ended up having the Mark Levinson sound system as well! It's an amazing car and will be a lot of fun!

I would imagine that the Mark Levinson sounds amazing.
