Disable DRL Daytime Running Lights RX - 3rd Gen (2010-2012)
Hi all - first time post. I've done lots of searching here and cannot find anything about 3rd gen. RX as it appears to be different than previous generations as far as disabling DRL goes.
I installed these awesome headlights that look just like 2013-2015 (ebay: Projector LED Headlights Set for 2010-2012 Lexus RX350 SUV). They are completely plug and play (I think only available for Halogen equipped vehicles.) However, the LED strip is wired to parking lights so in parking light position, the DRLs are on too so that's taking away from the appearance. They look perfect at night though!
Am desperately trying to find out a way to kill the DRLs. Any ideas/help/advice?
As I remember you could do it in the menu in the car under settings. At least they give you some choices with the 3RX as the 4RX they eliminated some choices
Here's how they look now with headlights on and off. A little hard to tell in the pic, but with headlights off there's too much light in the corners from the DRLs and you can compare to DRLs off when headlights are on.
That Carista looks so cool and too good to be true! Have ordered the OBD adapter and should get it within 2 days or so. Will find out then if DRL is an option there. It is listed as an option in the sample, but that's for 2014 so we'll see....fingers crossed.

Yup, Carista should be able to enable/disable DRLs on most (maybe all?) US-market 3rd-gen RX models, regardless of the year. Note that Canadian-market models usually don't support this change.
So... if your aftermarket headlights get their DRL source from the same place as the OEM headlights, you should be able to do it.
Amazing, done - achieved what I wanted with Carista!! Thanks for pointing me in that direction even after a few dealers told me it cannot be done. Here's the pic of what I wanted....and achieved...
