I have posted a similar thread on the LS forum and would appreciate some comments and advice.
My wife and I currently own a 2002 LS430 with 135k on it. The car is in great shape and my son and I just did a brake job on it. It has been regularly maintained and garaged.
We also have a 2001 AWD Honda CR-V SE (top of the line) with only 97k on it and it has likewise been well maintained.
My wife would like to upgrade from the CR-V to a nicer ride like an AWD 2015 Lexus 350 dealer demo with around 9K on it. We did test drive one and she really liked it.
Obviously, we will probably trade or sell either the LS or the Honda on the new RX if we elect to purchase it.
Questions: Have any of y'all made this kind of switch or own both a 3rd generation LS and a newer 3rd generation RX? If so, did you keep the LS and why?
Any problems with the older LS, especially electrical ones?
Driving impressions LS vs RX? Especially highway driving comparison?
And Finally, problems with the 3rd generation RX.
Down here in N.C., it's to darned cold right now to go back and test drive anything, so we'll have to wait until it warms up, and we are not in a rush since our vehicles are in great shape.
Thanks,
HRP

my girlfriend owns a 2001 LS, its around 150k now, pretty sweet ride, while my car is at the shop for the past week ive been driving her car all the time and it feels very nice, must say id like myself an LS, all good but the mpg. as of yet she never had any major issue with the LS, regular maintenance, oil, filters, breaks, new tires and thats about it, great vehicle, would probably keep an LS instead of Honda to be honest.

I had a low mileage (58K) 2008 LS460 and traded it for a 2015 RX350 F-Sport (they are AWD). The reason was I'm moving from FL to NC (West NC up in the hills) and the LS is a bit of a chore going thru the hills and curves plus the gas mileage gets bad in the hills too. The RX is close in weight but feels lighter and the F-Sport suspension handles the curves and hills better, plus AWD is a plus in the snow. Plus the LS needed tires, brakes and shocks and I knew I was trading soon so I just went and did it. BTW the gas mileage in town and in the hills for both are about the same, the LS is better on the highway. I'd love to have both but can't afford both. If I were you I'd trade out the Honda and get something newer and safer like the RX.

Apparently better to buy in the winter as dealers get fewer buyers. The only feature that you may not be able to test is the aircon unless temp is above freezing. But that should be covered by the CPO.
If you don't need two SUVs, replace the CRV.
