New purchase 2014 RX 350
I just purchased my first Lexus..a 2014 RX 350 with 3100 miles. Yep, that's right, 3100 miles. I purchased it from an older gentleman who had bought it for his wife but she liked her Honda. Then she became ill and passed away. He has had it sitting in the garage in the year she has been gone not knowing what he wanted to do with it. When my 2005 Tahoe with 211,000 miles went in the shop for a new transmission (the only problem I have ever had) he offered to sell the Lexus to me. I had already picked out a 2016 Rx 350 and the dealer found one for me but the idea of not having a car payment was too hard not to pass up. The 2014 is the same color inside and out and has the same features that the 2016 had on it.....except for whatever was new for this model. So it was meant to be.
Anyway, i know I should have an oil change...or at least I think I should. But should I sign up and pay for the Lexus Enform? Will the app be any help? And is there a way to sign up for a service that will remotely unlock my car? And what about upgrading the navigation?
Anything else I need to know?
Thanks all

Congrats on a great find.
With the 2014, you get Siri eyes free so that's nice if you have an iPhone.
I would pass on Enform. I think it's a waste. Others may disagree.
I think an oil change is definitely a good idea.
As for remote start, you have 2 options. Get the OEM remote start that works with the key fob but you have to be within 20 feet of your car for it to work. Or get the RES+ installed which allows you to start your car from your phone, but there's and annual fee for that, and you have to type in a long password every time you start the app (unless they've changed it), and there is a flat "antenna" that gets installed on your windshield. I guess you could go 3rd party but toyota/Lexus makes it difficult so I wouldn't bother with that due to the potential problems you could run in to with an inexperienced installer or other electrical issues that could arise.
Upgrade on navigation is up to you. You just get updated maps. If you won't use it, then no need

Congrats on the find! Don't forget to register at lexus.com as the new owner so that you get the car service history plus you will get notified for recalls and such.
You seem to know how to maintain your ride, e.g. Tahoe, so keep it up but of course you'll probably need to get to know the Lexus or Toyota dealers near your place before you really need one. I like to follow the maintenance schedule but there are many views on this.
Also, I hardly do any DIY on mine and I haven't found a non-Lexus dealer/mechanic that I could trust so I bring it to Lexus almost all the time. I tried Costco oil change once for about 75% of the dealer price but for another C$50 bucks or so at the dealer, I get the loaner, car wash, vacuum, loyalty points, and the proverbial espresso.
Lastly, this forum is gonna be a treasure for you for all things Lexus (and then some).

Thanks for the replies. I will use the dealer to the service right now just because I live in a rural area with not many other options. And good to know I can skip the extra fee for the Enform.
I am sure I will have more questions......thank you for your answers.

The Enform app is free, so you might as well try it out. It includes the ability to send addresses from your phone to your nav system, which is something we use a lot. We also use it for Pandora, but you can also just use that directly from your phone.
