Speakers
I purchased a 2012 450H from a used car lot and car drove great. I've been happy for the most part. After a week of driving it the audio sounds like trash. I started messing with the balance and fade and it appears there is no speaker in the back seat driver side door. Upon further inspection, the door has some internal damage and the dealer is telling me that some Lexus don't have speakers in the back! When I removed the door, there is a sticker that looks like it is from the factory that says "NO SPEAKER" on it. I convinced him to put another speaker in there and it appears he replaced only the tweeter as that is what appears to be on the passenger side as well. My question is, did they really only put tweeters in the back seat? Has any one put some better speakers in the back seat doors and if so what do you recommend. Is it something easy to do? If I can get this and the jingle noise coming from the back or back seat figured out I'd be a happy man.

Do you have the base or premium audio? Obviously not the ML (Mark Levinson) package.
The premium in mine is surprisingly good. I would go as far as stating it outperforms BO sound in my Audi.

There are 3 levels of audio. If you do not have navigation, you have the 9 speaker system. If you have Nav, then you likely have the 12 speaker upgrade. I doubt you have the top of the line Mark Levinson audio.
You can look here to identify and purchase the OEM speakers http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/
You can also go to www.crutchfield.com which is a great aftermarket source for car audio. Their web site can help you identify aftermarket speakers that would fit your car. I bet there are superior aftermarket speakers available for less money than OEM stuff.

Thank you guys! I have the navigation so I assume it is the 9 speakers. I figured 3 in each front door and 1 in the dash and two in the rear doors. There are spots for both tweeters and larger speakers in the rear. Just thought it was odd there was a sticker that looked to be from the factory that stated no speaker.
Once I figure this out, I got to figure out where this jingle noise is coming from and then I'll be happy with my purchase. I think that might be coming from the door too.

You got it backwards. If you have Nav then you have 12 speakers. This includes the subwoofer in the rear cargo area on the left side.
3 speakers in each front door (6)
1 center dash speaker (1)
2 speakers in each rear door (4)
1 subwoofer (1)
Total 12

Thank you for setting me straight. This is totally odd. When I fade it to the back it sounds like music is only coming out of one tweeter. Defiantly no sub in the rear cargo that I can hear. Could there be a short or something not connected that these speakers are working? It sounds like I need to go to a car audio place that can help me.

I would open the hatch and look & listen at the driver side rear corner while the system is playing to be sure the subwoofer is or is not working. It should work independent of the rear speakers. Just crank up your bass first.
Take it to a car audio store. It sounds like it may have been in an accident and they failed to replace the rear speakers or they were stolen or otherwise removed. You can find replacement speakers on eBay, same with the subwoofer and it's amplifier if needed.
